On my way to a healthier lifestyle

2013 Fall 5% challenge:

I will attempt to lose 5% of my weight (about 10 lbs). I will continue to exercise for a minimum of 45-60 minutes 5-6 days a week. I continuously struggle with portion control (my biggest hurdle) but it's slowly getting easier. I want to lose weight to become more confident in myself and build my social network.


I will check in with my team as time permits and support my teammates to the best of my ability. I will post my fitness ...

Why I want to shed the excess weight:

1. To become healthier.
2. To be more energetic.
3. To avoid becoming diabetic.
4. To avoid heart disease and the complications that go with it.
5. To become more confident in myself.
6. To be able to buy cute clothes and look good in them.
7. To have a wardrobe I will be proud to show off!
8. To more easily do everyday tasks.
9. To more easily do things that are hindered by my weight (and
not be out of breath!).
10. To be around for a long time for my nieces and nephew!

AND last but NOT least-----

I want to lose weight so I can feel more comfortable in my skin, enjoy doing things again and become more confident!


I enjoy being part of the challenges because I'm learning new habits and making them lifelong habits, not just short term goals. I've learned that consistency is the key to success. I will commit myself to build upon the habits I've formed to increase my chances of success.

My Goals:
I want to lose the excess weight to become healthier and more energetic. I want to be a role model for my nieces and nephew.

My Program:
I'm exercising at least 4-5 times each week for a minimum of 30-45 minutes. I prefer to walk outdoors but when the weather is uncooperative, I have some DVDs.

I drink plenty of water daily and have made healthier eating a habit. However, I struggle with portion control. I need to retrain my brain what portion sizes look like and become more diligent about doing so.

Personal Information:
I live along the eastern seaboard. I enjoy the outdoors and get outside as much as I can.
