After many, many years of trying to lose weight by following one program or another, I resign. DIETS DO NOT WORK - and they're not healthy.

ALL diets, including the "lifestyle change" diet, have a 98% FAILURE rate. That means that only 2% of people who lose weight on ANY diet are able to keep the weight off for more than 2 years. Of those people, almost none are able to keep the weight off for more than 5. That's why ALL weight loss ads now have to carry the "results not typical" warning in their advertising. Not some diet plans - ALL of them!

Diets damage us physically, psychologically and emotionally and I refuse to subject myself to this constant torture for one more day.

I am embarking on a journey of self-care where I will learn to eat intuitively, responding to physical and emotional hunger as an act of self-love and self-care; where I will learn to love myself as I am right now without the need to fit someone elses image of health and beauty; where I will exercise because it is enjoyable to me and helps me care for my body - and where I will not use the size and shape and weight of my body as a way to judge, disparage or harm myself any longer.

My Program:
** I choose to make peace with my body.

Instead of continuing starve my body on one endless diet plan after another in hopes of fitting an impossible image of health and beauty, I choose to love it as it is right now.

** I choose to make peace with food.

There are no more "good" or "bad" foods in my life. Instead, I choose to make all foods available and give myself permission to eat the foods that my body craves whenever I am physically hungry for them.

** I choose to make peace with exercise.

I exercise because it feels good and it does wonderful things for my body. I do not exercise if it feels like a "chore" or is not enjoyable to me. Nor do I exercise with the intent of losing weight.

Personal Information:
* I am the proud parent to four "furbabies" - three dogs (Cleo, Hunter & Troy) and one kitty (Lily).

* I have been married for the past seven years and look forward to many more!

* I am a Reiki Master Teacher and Holistic Health Coach specializing in body image and breaking the diet cycle.

Other Information:
Favorite Cookbook - The "Fix It and Forget It" series of slow cooker meals. I don't know what I would do without my slow cooker!!

Favorite Fiction Book - Too many to mention! I Love anything by Anne Bishop, Charlaine Harris, JR Ward or Patricia Briggs among many, many others

Favorite TV Shows - Grimm, American Horror Story, Supernatural, True Blood, The Walking Dead, Dexter, Homeland, Kitchen Nighmares, Chopped, Master Chef, Hell's Kitchen, and Restaurant Impossible, among others!

What I'm Reading Right Now - "Kick the Candle" by Genevieve Jack, one of my first ever Kindle books.
