This is Andrew's first deployment and, according to him, his last. He was married in July and has decided that he won't be reenlisting. He won't be home until November though, and who knows what the future holds....

The young man in my photo is my son, Andrew. He was stationed at Ft. Bliss in El Paso before his November deployment to Iraq. We live in Illinois where we almost always have a white Christmas, but not this year. Snow didn't hit until after Christmas. Which was just as well. With Andrew in Iraq, we weren't really in the mood to celebrate "Christmas". We didn't have gifts or decorations or even Christmas dinner; just church services and some nice quiet time with family.

Thanks for your comments. I hope you had a happy holiday! emoticon

Hi! Thanks for the friend add. LOVE your birdies!! I used to have a Congo African Grey. How I miss my Stormie (even though she was a mean little spitfire who enjoyed letting you kiss her one day then tried to take your lip off the next!). Seeing yours brought back memories. I see you're in Texas but also the Arkansas ladies team. Did you used to live in Arkansas?

Nice to "meet" you! Happy Healthy Holidays!!
