Fit for the rest of my Life!

Hello! I am 47, healthy and about to be a Grandma! I quit smoking last year (Yeah!) but got lazy about fitness and my weight. My goal is to lose 40 pounds which will put me at the mid-point of the BMI healthy range.

Did I welcome you to No S? I can't keep it all straight!

It can be tough to keep a No S presence here on Spark because of all the emphasis on weight loss and calorie counting, but I still feel it's worth it. My fifth anniversary of committing to No S is Dec. 26. I am SO glad I found it. I know they say everyone is different, but the truth is that tens of millions of people stay relatively slim and healthy eating very similarly to this in other parts of the world, never weighing themselves and never counting calories. That is a better track record than ALL diets ever used in the US combined. Please stick with it past the humps!

Ok, yesterday I dug our sledgehammer out of the garage and today will give it a try. The idea is so tempting!

I'm so glad to see that you dug out your foam roller, and that it helped with the muscle soreness! Sometimes I use mine right after a workout, along with a stretching routine, and that seems to head off the soreness before it can get irksome.
