I am a 26 year old, originally from Ghana, looking to finally lose weight in a healthy and sustainable way.

I am determined to live a healthy life, and have finally admitted to myself that my key issues are emotional eating, consistency, and self-sabotage. I have a long way to go, but I am learning to really love myself for me, at any size, along the way.

My general goals are:

View food as nourishment and fuel for my body, rather than as a proxy for comfort, entertainment and whatever else I use it for

Learn to tune out negative comments of detractors. The journey is for me, and not for others to define.

Find self-esteem from within/develop mental as well as physical strength

Finally, I got married on July 13, 2013! This new step definitely makes me want to live a healthy life for myself, my husband and our future family

Feel comfortable wearing clothes without SPANX

Have my fiance pick me up without worrying that the sheer weight will break his back

Buy a pair of riding boots (DONE, as of December, 2012!)

Wear a bathing suit in public without shorts/wrap/etc (DONE, Miami - Aug 2012!)

Run a 5K

Feel comfortable wearing short dresses by themselves rather than pairing them with leggings

Fitting into that sexy red dress hanging in my closet

Look stunning in my wedding dress in 2013 (DONE! July 13, 2013)

An amazing sex life in my marriage (Working on it ha! )

Things are going lol
One more semester plus maybe 3 classes and I'll graduate (BS).
I have the flu right now and feel really bad.

How are things going for you and how is married life treating you.
