I am a 27 year old, originally from Ghana, looking to finally lose weight in a healthy and sustainable way.

I am determined to live a healthy life, and have finally admitted to myself that my key issues are emotional eating, consistency, and self-sabotage. I have a long way to go, but I am learning to really love myself for me, at any size, along the way.

View food as nourishment and fuel for my body, rather than as a proxy for comfort, entertainment and whatever else I use it for

Learn to tune out negative comments of detractors. The journey is for me, and not for others to define.

Find self-esteem from within/develop mental as well as physical strength

Finally, I got married on July 13, 2013! This new step definitely makes me want to live a healthy life for myself, my husband and our future family

I can relate to all of what you are saying. I have been there. It takes time and a lot of will power. Sparks challenges help me to stay on track.
