Shrub Roses from my husband's farm. Original plants are over 50 years old.

My favorite flower! They have to be since I am from Kansas and I love Yellow!!

I love the way the Red Zinna color reflects onto the Painted Butterfly, adding to its orange color.

Thank you for the welcome to the Shutterbugs! I have just a small "point and shoot" camera and have not taken any pictures recently. But have been inspired by a couple of posters on flickr. com. And love the idea of a weekly assignment. Actually there was a similar group on flickr at one time, but it did not last. Was fun.

So will get my camera out and get it recharged. And will get to snapping some pictures.

Sorry about the loss of your husband. I noticed when it was and I has just lost a son to cancer in Dec of 2013 - Do miss him so.

Hugs and have a great day,

    Hey,
We spent 3 weeks there recently. My husband was giving a series of lectures throughout the country (both islands) and we got to see a lot of countryside. I did all the driving so not much freedom to take pictures plus it rained and rained. We have been before but had not been to the Glow Worm caves in Wanaka. Rotorua is the new "hot" spot for the 30 somethings and is lively at night with their "eat street". It's a covered block of restaurants of all types and you hear music from one or more of the restaurants and can watch people strolling about. The roof it glass so it's light and bright.

I've posted to my Spark page some additional photos of the trip if you should be interested.

    Regards,
