Hi! Here's hoping you have a smile on your face and in your heart! I am finding this easier to do the more I take care of myself! I have raised three kids mostly on my own since becoming a widow 10 years ago, and I am currently in a nursing program to become an RN. UPDATE: Graduated June 17, 2011
My passions include beach time on the Pacific coast, cycling, quiet moments, music of most all types, and learning.
I recently returned to riding my bike and it is heaven. I just love the wind in my face. Sparkpeople has made a great difference in my life and I appreciate all the friends I have made.

I've lost 61 pounds Woo Hoo!!!!!
Better still I've gained control of my eating and learned to set goals. On that note here is my 2011 plan:
Beginning weight 255.8
Start spinning class
Eat 5 servings fruit/veggie daily
Try new recipe weekly
Register for 3 cycling events
Begin outdoor cycling asap
Cycling distance (single ride) goal 35mi
Goal wt 3/31/2011 225.8#
Increase mileage (single ride)to 70mi
Try new recipe 2X/week
Begin C25K April 1 Postponed till complete 100mi ride!
Graduate nursing school June 17
Bike w/ granddaughter Met!!!! 4/16/2011
Goal wt 6/30/2011 200#
Increase mileage (single ride)to 100mi
Goal wt 9/30/2011 175#
Share ride event w/ sister
Meet w/ Spark friend for event
Maintain wt through holidays
Start Master Gardener training
Purchase inside trainer to sustain cycling miles
It all began with a decision to start walking every other day.

Add 2 veggies/fruits per day-Met!

Sleep 7-8 hours per night- Met!
Go to bed on time 6 out of 7 nights- Met!
November 30, 2010 wt 268.4 ~~~~Lost 49 pounds!
Dec 2010 Goals
Lose 8 pounds- Goal met~~ lost 11.2!!!
Join a gym- Goal met 11/24
Begin strength training –Goal met 12/13
Work with a personal trainer – goal met 12/4
Eat 5 servings fruit/veggie daily – most days yes
Practice relaxing daily – still working on
2011 is going to be awesome. See my goals to the left.
1. Log in daily and record exercise and calories.
2. Post to message boards and blogs daily.
3. Cardio 6x 60min weekly. Alternate between elliptical, walking, cycling.
4. Strength train 6x/week
