Zero, to Hero, to Zero, to Triathlete?!?! WHY YES!

Welcome to my SparkPage. With the new year upon us, I finally felt the need to change things up here. I moved my original introduction to a blog, so that my story would be saved. Now I have a clean slate to start the next part of my journey. I hope you enjoy reading my story and that you always remember that YOU CAN DO IT no matter how impossible it may sometimes seem.

Spread the Spark and BELIEVE in yourself.

01/13/13 - In 2008 and 2009, I was on a roll... I lost half my body weight, was active and feeling good (see blog posted 1/13/13) - and then it was 2010 and I hurt my back, my yellow lab, Cameron, died suddenly at age 8, I hurt my knee, I lost my mojo, started struggling. Then it was 2011, my knee still hurt and my gallbladder blew up and I was 40 pounds heavier... my mojo was still missing, I kept gaining weight and losing my confidence and self-worth. Then it was 2012 and I decided I was going to do a triathlon. That was a great experience (see blog posted 09/09/12) and I started to get my mojo back. After the triathlon, I joined a relay team and did 5.7 miles in the California International Marathon relay in December. Fast forward to the New Year and I was "lucky number 13" in the New Year's Dualathlon, which I did with my friend Ralene on two official days of training, because we were determined to set our intention for the New Year - ACTIVE and a little CRAZY. It's a good mix, right? 2013 is the year I WILL get back on track with my weight loss and will rediscover my self-worth. Onederland, here I come again!

My Goals:
My ultimate goal is to get down to 134 pounds... which would be something I weighed back in grade school!

However, I know that's going to be a long, long road... and I'm willing to go on this journey... detours and all!

My Program:
I do best when I track my food - weigh and measure everything - and log every bite. Knowing the calories in helps keep my in check, and it helps me make sure that I'm getting enough protein, fiber, freggies, and water.

I love being active - swimming, biking, Zumba, yoga, strength training, walking and running.

Kyler will turn 8 in January.
Finnegan will be 3 next July.
Fletcher turned 2 last March.

Other Information:
I'm a huge fan of Auto Racing - particularly Sprint Cars and F1.

I love to scrapbook and read. Diana Gabaldon's "Outlander" series tops my chart.

I love all types of music. A day without music is a day without the sun.

Voo Doo probably would do well here then, as we get hot in the summer. Spring might be iffy, it depends on the year. This year our spring was very warm, but we have had a lot of springs where we get frost up until April.

I see you lost Cameron as well. They were adorable. I love Labs. emoticon

We are doing pretty good. My RA was bothering me, but I am doing better with that now. Dennis found work a year ago. I can't remember if I told you earlier. It is only part time, but it is working out. He gets to work from home, so no more commuting. We are in the process of fixing up the backyard. Just doing a little at a time, but so far it is looking much better. As you can see our garden has bloomed. Birds, Bees are happy. Me too hehe. Keep in touch!

I had heard of your Mom's Roses, but I never had one in my yard. Nor did my Mom, so I looked them up. The Voo Doo is a pretty color. It says it is proned to mildew etc., so that one I will have to admire from afar lol. The Sweet Surrender is beautiful, and disease resistant. When we get ready to redo the front yard, I might consider that one. How have you been? Do you still have your dogs? emoticon
