It's Time To Get This Right!

THIS IS NOT A RACE, IT'S A BATTLE FOR HEALTH & HAPPINESS!

As you can see by the captions beneath most of my pictures, and the chart at the right side of my page that my battle has started, stopped, and began again and again and again....... But the battle MUST continue and when I lose the fight for one day, I need to get up dust myself off and move on without giving up.

If I learn something along the way then I have accomplished something for THAT day........

If I learn something along the way then I have accomplished something for THAT day........

I get so depressed and angry because I lose weight one week, gaining a third of it back the next, and lose that plus 1 - 2 pounds the next week. I seesaw back and forth and think of myself as a failure but I'm not a failure I'm human and I will make it with this weight loss struggle and good health campaign. I will get sad sometimes and then I will be excited the next but I can't quit...... EVER!

Bare with me as I struggle forward again. Pray that I am strong enough to choose the right choices every single day of the week until I have settled into this plan stronger than I was before! I am weak at being strong alone but that's just another part of my new life and health that I need to work on. I have learned that being healthy isn't all about the body, the weight of a person, the cholesterol counts, the A1c's, or the thyroid results. Being healthy includes the MIND..... and I have a lot of work to get accomplished there as well!

Deb. thanks for stopping by my blog. It was a wonderful time the food was so good too almost all vegetarian. Most of the veggie dishes are so good!

Hi Debbie; Read your blog about bariatric surgery. I know this is a hard decision for you. When we are so large for so long our body takes the brunt of it. I have fought the weight battle all my life. I am still fighting it. I have considered the bariatric surgery route 2-3 times.
But I am stubborn. I got this weight because I ate unhealthy and was lazy. It did not happen overnight. It took years. I believe in my heart that if I can eat healthy, control eating junk food and sweets I can loose weight. I believe if I make myself get up and move at least 60-120 minutes a day my body will loss fat, gain muscle and become more flexible. I don't want to take the easy way out by having the surgery.
My doctor has suggested lap band surgery in the past but has agreed with me that for now My goal of weight lose through healthy eating and increased activity is the best way to go.
I have a friend that recently had the lap band she is doing well. She has lost about 30 lbs. She only weighed 239 when she had her surgery. She has gone from a size 22 to a 14. Her goal is a size 6. She had to adjust her eating drastically at first. I remember one time she ate about 6-7 bites of food and had to go to the bathroom. Eating that much food made her sick. Now, she can eat a little better. No full servings but a few bites of everything. I don't want to be that restrictive in my diet. I also have no desire to be a size 6. I just want to be healthy and be more mobile. Oh And to look better in my clothes,
I don't know you situation, your health issues or physical limitations. But I do know if you decide to have this surgery you need to be as healthy as you can be. Try to get up and walk as much as you can. When you are cooking and have something in the oven or microwave instead of sitting down walk. Walk in place, walk from one end of the kitchen to the other. Just walk. It is a great activity. Hold on to a chair or use a walking stick or if necessary a walker but walk. Your strength and endurance will improve. Your breathing will improve. And most important your mood and outlook will improve. You just feel better.
Well, after all this chatter I want you to know I believe in you. I know you will make the best choice for you. I am here to support and encourage you in your journey to a healthier life style. Hugs Pat
