My Goals:
Have the best quality of life through optimal fitness and nutrition, and still have time for the things I love. Maintain my current weight and body measurements. Increase my % muscle relative to fat. Decrease visceral fat.

My Program:
With my husband I am following a carbohydrate-restricted diet to treat our diabetes. My exercise routine: daily stretching, abs, light leg weights; 2-3x weekly 30 min interval training (as jump rope, rowing, and stationary bike) and 2-3x weekly 3 sets push-ups, pull-ups, planks to muscle exhaustion. Maintain 2 acre yard with a walk-behind mower, do my own housework, plus walking, working at a standing desk; I rarely sit.

Scientist, mom, volunteer, wife, daughter, singer, animal lover, Christian, libertarian. What hats do you wear?

Hi Barbara - Thanks for the note on my Sparkpage! After waffling a bit on whether to lose more or maintain I've decided to stay where I am, at least for now. I was getting hungry and restless after 6+ months on Phase 1 of Ideal protein, and mentally having a hard time being as rigorous. So I've joined the At Goal team and working on figuring out how to maintain the great progress I've made. Maybe in the fall I'll try losing another 5-10 pounds, we'll see...

I love the seed thing. When I was a child, we loved dandelion salads. The kids a school laughed at us for it. So soon I learned not to talk about that, or eating fried green tomatoes. Now those things are delicious! emoticon

I had a gal graduate me from high school who went as Babs.
Interesting.
I am a Para at work, hence my name, I work with the SPED, special kids, and am in 3 choir groups, I enjoy it as I use to play the piano so I can follow the music and show the students rests, repeat symbols, soft, loud, (f p). Etc.

Hi & Welcome.
I am another Barbara, though I go by Barb, I use to be called Barbie and hence Barbie Doll. The doll came out when I was 4 or 5. I have a cousin who still calls me Barbie. I hated the name due to the doll.
I go by both, my inlaws call me Barbara too.
It's an old name and you don't hear it much more.
