The start of a year long journey

I did not grow up overweight but began to gain ten pounds a year every year from mid twenties till I reached the horrible grand total of 286 pounds.. I got the flu, than a head cold one after the other and lost 26 pounds. And there I have been stuck between 250 and 260 for about 15 years. Spark People has given me the motivation, encouragement and tools I need to get rid of this 140lb ball and chain I wear.

The Avatar convention is in Seattle, I'm in El Pao. Over 1000 miles. That Kind of travel just ain't cheap! We will spend a day watching about adventure movie called Tales of the Golden Monkey (it features a vintage airplane!) and lounging around ~
you are right. One needs a day just to recharge!

Poor Izzy! I'm sure she appreciates you taking care of her even though she is a challenge! My favorite chew toy for hard chewers is a sterilized bone you can buy at pet stores. You can even fill the cavity with dog food (softened in water and mashed) and then FREEZE it. That'll keep her interest!
To keep her water bowl cool, you can freeze a block of ice (in a plastic bowl) and just let it melt in her water bowl.
Good luck with her...poor baby!

HI Chris! So far, we aren't pouring walls. Wepoured a flat slab, 4inches deep and the stanchions to support the cantilevered hangar roof is three feet deep and six inches high. The walls will need rebar for strength. It is good that you are researching that project. Strength training will prevent you fromstraining your back. Be Careful!
