Back for Round 2. Hoping for a Knockout

***Update - April 16th, 2014***
Life is crazy and so is weight loss! It is one of those things that if not closely monitored can become weight gain, and THAT is where I am at. I weigh in at a hefty 233.2 lbs today, 18 lbs above my lowest weight of 215 lbs. Why did I gain weight? I was tired of focusing on it, I am enjoying being a newlywed, I started eating treats and fast food and kept doing it, and I didn't work out as often. With that being said I am not disgusted. I am glad that ...

I am glad that I have the mindset to check it before it gets out of hand. And now I have a new goal: to get pregnant! My hubby and I have decided that when I release this 18 pounds of weight gain, that we will try for babies! So I am refocusing my efforts to regain my health and my fabulous jaw line by eating well and exercising more.

***Update - October 7th, 2013***

I am Mrs. Brown now!!!! YAAAYYY! I had every intention of being 200 lbs at this point in my journey. I have actually gained 7 lbs from my lowest weight of 215. I am disappointed but not discouraged. I am enjoying being a wife and I am regaining control of this wacky weight-loss train by joining Weight Watchers.

***UPDATE - May 24, 2013****

Well it has been one year and I have come a mighty long way! A year ago my initial goal was to get to 200 lbs by this date. Instead I chose to live a healthy AND happy life, focused on living while dieting and exercising. I managed to lose 56 lbs and for that I am very proud! There were times when I was discouraged with my progress, but I never quit. Every other attempt in my life, I quit at when it got too hard. This time I stuck it out and tried something else rather than quitting all together. I have had amazing support and I am looking forward to marrying the love of my life in a little over 3 months. At 216 lbs, I am hoping to step on the scale on my wedding day much closer to Onederland!

***UPDATE - Feb 16, 2013***
I have been at this weight loss journey for 9 months and have lost more weight than I ever had before. These 54 pounds feel like a 100 to me. It has freed me from so many health issues, given me more confidence and also made me EXTREMELY tired! I am trying to keep the momentum but with working a second job and preparing for my upcoming wedding, I am exhausted. I originally had a goal of 180 lbs (92 lbs loss) but at 218 I am comfortable with losing 20-25 more pounds and moving into maintenance. I hope to be at that maintenance point by my birthday of July 4th. Wish me luck!

**UPDATE - Oct 21, 2012***
It has been exactly five months since I got my spark back and jumped back on the weight loss rollercoaster. In these five months I have went from a 22W to a 14W and have lost 38 pounds. I have ran a race every month since July and I can now run 4 miles without stopping. I have finished my longest race, a 5-miler in 1:05:38. I am proud of that. Currently I am experiencing a three week plateau of no weight loss. I am disappointed but I am encouraged knowing that I still feel the spark inside. I am going to re-evaluate my current plan, switch up my routine and get tighter on my nutrition.

May 21, 2012
This is my second go around with Sparkpeople. The first time around I lost almost 50 pounds and gained a ton of confidence. Unfortunately I got comfortable and some issues from my past pushed me back to a place I didn't want to be. Food tagged along. I have worked through most of those issues and want to gain my confidence back for the second and hopefully last time. I turned 29 years old July 4th, 2012 and I intend to go into my 30's fit, fun, flirty, and fabulous!

Hey there:

I just read and commented on your last blog "I know it's about the Food". I forgot to mention that last year when I lost all that weight, when I would go to the gym I would see other gym members working out stron while I was walking in/warming up... and still going strong when I was cooling down, but in weeks and months, I wouldn't see any noticeable weight loss on them...

I would go 3-4 days a week and they would be there 5-6. I had no less than 3 people come up to and ask me how I lost weight or how I did it "so quickly" (in their mind it was quick, but I did it at a healthy pace.

Well, I would ask them: "How many calories do you eat an average ona daily babsis" and tehy would look at me puzzled and say "I don't know, but I eat healthy"

well, obviously they were eating as much as they were using, and not eating low enough calories to brn off excess fat. I told them to get their "calorie range" for weight loss on Sparkpeople, or another weight loss site, and make sure to track their food and measure it.

A friend of mine that lost 80 lbs told me that when she went to weight watchers, her leader told them that the difference between those that lose consistently and those that don't lose consistently or meet their goals is that the ones that were losing weight tracking/wrote down/looked up all their food and drinks. She said those that came in with teh attitude "oh, I don't need to do that, I can estimate"- those individuals would put 50% effort in and get 50% results out, and it would be very frustrating. The leader told them "If you didn't need tips on how to lose weight you wouldn't be here and if you keep doing the same thing (not tracking and measuring food) you are going to get the same results"

and you are right 80% of it is what we eat... I see people at the hospital I work at.. the are constantly moving, bending walking and on their feet, and yet they are overweight. Why, wellbecause they are eating more or just as much as they are burning. If they could just cut out 500 calories a day, they'd lose at least 1 pound per week.

I wish you luck on your continued journey- keep in touch, you've been doing great!

Hey there! I saw you are restarting on Spark too. I am restarting this journey too. I posted a blog about my difficult but blessed last year. I had a beautiful baby boy, but of course, the pregnancy has changed my body, and also choices I have made have caused me to gain weight too.

So I am back, and I am determined to be extra healthy and fit in the clothes I fit in May of last year!

Hope to keep in topuch with you!
Your pictures are gorgeous by the way! Congratulations on your marriage!
