I Can Do This!!

I am a breast cancer survivor (Jan. 2012). I am blessed it was caught early & I that skated by with just a lumpectomy, radiation therapy & 5 years of meds. As I sat in the hospital awaiting my surgery, I was snooping in my chart & saw that yucky "obese" word. I knew it was true, but it really bothered me to see it in writing. That's why I am here.

Thanks for letting me know your easy go-to meal. I love big salads too with a little protein on top. I can't tell you how many times I've had that. It's great and healthy!

I will always have a special place in my heart for anyone who has survived an illness like cancer, which can really be a spirit-breaker. Our strong faith community got us through my mom's and Gran's (her mom) diagnoses, treatments, and recoveries. Their journeys through that trial are part of what I keep as motivation for myself to be as healthy as I can. I've rebelled long enough; it's time to make a change for a better me. Just being able to think about "My mom/Gran beat cancer, I can beat my bad habits" will probably be a good mantra through my journey.
