Each day that I make healthy choices I feel that energetic glow that makes life so joyous. And that glow improves with practice. I choose to embrace who I am today. And I take responsibility for the quality of my life by making responsible and healthy choices in all aspects of my life. The by-product of a Healthy lifestyle is a healthy body weight. I'm not exactly sure what number that is for me. If I keep my focus on living my healthiest every day, I am sure that a lot of different numbers will be healthy for me, along the way.

My Program:
On August 9th, I went back to my old account on Atkins.com and started following Induction (the first stage with 20 net carbs. Net carbs are total grams carbs - fiber grams.) At my Dr.s appointment 10 days later, I told my Dr. that my blood glucose levels were too low at bedtime (78) and she told me to go off meds (Invokana 100mg) and agreed to let me try and keep my sugar levels low by diet and exercise. I keep accruing information and have since acquired a copy of Dr. Fung's book "The Obesity Code" where he recommends a program of Intermittent fasting to lower insulin levels in the bloodstream. I have been eating a full day of a low carb diet one day and just eating dinner on the alternate day for about a week now. My body seems to be responding well to this and I am losing weight. Even more significant to me is my fasting blood sugars are in non-diabetic ranges. I keep waiting for them to creep up, but so far they have been lower than when I was taking medication. I will continue on

I want more people to know, you know? I often am mad at the half truths we are fed.

Thanks for your comment on my blog, I loved how you said that each time you are back, you are a little more successful and I completely agree. I have never in all my adult life been able to splurge a little, go through the holidays or deal with a major life event and not have it derail me to the point of losing all control and focus. Now, not so much. I can only speak for the last year but if it taught me anything it is consistency and resilience. Feeling good!! Thank you and wishing you a wonderful 2017 as well. May we continue to make healthy changes and continue to prosper in our new lifestyle. YAY us!!!

Nancy, you're so right about flexibility. That's a GREAT way to look at it! He's worth being my priority yesterday. It was kind of a tough day and night, and something just had to give.

Thank you for the support! emoticon
