The Omnivore's Dilemma by Michael Pollan: accessible writing on the sources of our food, organics farming methods and the unfortunate prevalence of processed corn in our diets. "Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants."

The End of Over Eating by David Kessler: describes how people, places and environment influence our eating habits. Also delves into the mysteries of food science and marketing and their influence our preferences for taste and quantity.

The Eat Clean Diet - Tosca Reno: taken at face value - not to the extreme - good basic principles on "eating clean"
