Trying to get fit by walking and running. I am currently using the Jeff Galloway run/walk/run program and just ran my first half marathon, The Tinker Bell Half in Disneyland with all 3 of my daughters. I am 56 years old and started running about a year ago. I have never liked running but decided to put "running a 5K" on my bucket list. After training for and running my first 5K, I realized I do enjoy running after all. It is fun to run with my husband and daughters.

"BEAUTIFUL PERSON AWARD"

You are the recipient of the Beautiful Person Award!!

Once you've been given this award, you have to paste it on the page of 8 People who deserve it. If you receive more than 3, you know you're really beautiful! If you break the chain, nothing will happen, but it's always good to know someone thinks you're beautiful inside and out!

Again, Congratulations Beautiful!

I miss Fort Bayard! I talked to someone who did the race there for Memorial Day Weekend too that I did a few years!. Basically, I'm doing okay. I could have died from the stroke, and it hit out of the blue. I spent 5 weeks in the hospital, first transferred from Silver to Phoenix, then 21 days later to a hospital for brain trauma in Dallas because my oldest son and family lives near there. I finally got out Dec. 3rd. I still have a lot of trouble with balance and kind of weave when I walk. But in spite of that I'm still walking quite a bit! The drs, nurses, and therapists said that is what helped me when I had my stroke to recover as well as I did. I also have shaking in my right hand and a slight problem with speech but not too bad. I was finally approved recently for social security disabililty, although my desire is still to possibly go back to work. But we'll see. For the last 4 weeks I've been visiting a friend from southern CA and we've been all around with or without her husband. Next week we go to Yosemite. Then the week after I go back to TX and am going to get my own place instead of live with my son. I would go back to Grant Co except 2 of my grown daughters are there with my grandkids and I was supporting them. They are getting by but just barely and not working and I know if I went back I'd fall back into the same thing with them. So I think for me right now it's better to stay away and not end up raising them and their kids (they are 29 and 35 but still like kids!) and I would feel sorry for the grandkids and raise them. I can't do that and take care of myself. So I don't know about the future but not for the moment. I also want to go see my middle son in Oklahoma soon and his new finance and my two grandkids there. He is doing okay. It's actually only about 4 hours from the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex where I'll be living. Hope you are doing okay and your family. I miss all my favorite places to hike around there! My friend in CA is about 9 years older than me but an avid hiker so she drags me out hiking here ha ha. My part of TX is pretty flat though!

Your exempt from cleaning. The problem with cleaning is that it can always be put off for tomorrow, so we end up doing it anyway. I have not lifted a finger today... taking full advantage.
