I am 73 years young, married to my first love for 53 years. We live in Maine, VACATIONLAND. We came here from England and intended to stay just 2 years. We have stayed here 52 years in the same city and have been very happy here. Our sons had to move away from here alas to find work. That gives us two places we need to go to visit. Our other son is in upstate New York. He is the closest but you cannot get there from here in the winter. There is just too much snow in the White and Green Mountains. Summer we try to catch up with the grandchildren.

My Goals:
My goal is to be as healthy, fit and happy as possible. I like to see places in Maine in our small Motor Home and drive it as long as I can.

My Program:
I have always tracked food due to allergies so that goal is almost met. Improving my fitness (after a back injury cramped my style) is a little harder. I use my stepper to stregthen my leg that was adversely affected from the surgery. I love to walk outdoors in the summer. In the winter I have to overcome my fear of falling on ice so I walk on the treadmill daily.

Personal Information:
My name is Pat my mother was Nora, hence Noraspat. I was born during World War 2 in England. My mother, brother and I were homeless till I was about 10 years old. I never met our father. Our mother always told us. We will be Clean, Honest and you will both be well educated. That was the way it was. We were poor and happy living with any relative who would take us in for a while.

Other Information:
My husband and I rent movies, nothing nasty we lived with enough nasty in our childhood during the war. We like comedy and old classic Mystery. We miss Alistair Cooke masterpiece, the newer ones are often not as good as the older ones, times change and I do not. I ran an alterations shop in town for 24 years and loved doing it. The boys are in Upstate NY, California and Nevada and I miss them a lot.

Sure hope your surgery is a success. I got side-tracked with a bout of food poisoning. I am fine now, but got behind on Sparking. I saw you cast/bandages. So hope all heals well and fast.

I have a fitbit zip. It does everything I need. I don't need something to tell me how much sleep I get, etc.

I just reeceived this note from Sparkpeople.
    Hello Spark Activity Tracker user!

As a loyal member of SparkPeople and a SAT user, we wanted to give you a heads up about some changes that will be coming soon. When we decided to offer our own fitness tracker to our members, we partnered with Fitlinxx, the company who created the device and manages all of the data the device captures. Fitlinxx recently informed us that they are going out of business, which means that members will no longer be able to sync their devices, and the Spark Activity Tracker will become obsolete. Unfortunately, this was not a decision on our part, nor something we anticipated. We wish we could allow members to continue using their devices, but it will not be possible given the circumstances.

Although we have not sold the SAT on our site in over a year, we would like to offer some compensation to those members who will need to purchase a new type of tracker. Therefore, we are offering a $10 Amazon gift card which you can use toward the purchase of another device. Jawbone offers a similar device for $14, which can also be connected to your SparkPeople account. You'll find all of the devices that connect with your SparkPeople account here. These devices offer detailed reporting on SparkPeople similar to what you've come to expect from your SAT.

If you are interested in taking part in this gift card offer, please fill out the form linked below by Monday, February 6th, as no late submissions will be accepted. You will receive your gift card via email on Monday, February 13th. Please be aware that you will no longer be able to sync your SAT data as of Tuesday, February 21st.

Click here and fill out the form to receive your Amazon gift card.

We appreciate all of your support of the site and our products, and look forward to continuing to offer few features to help you reach all of your healthy living goals. If you have questions or problems, you can email kelly@sparkpeople.com.

    Sincerely,

    The SparkPeople Team

I remember them saying the trackers were going to be obsolete and they would have something better. I haven't heard anything since. I wish they would let people know.
If you find out anything let me know too. Thanks. I am glad you are getting around with one hand. It is not easy. Prayers for you. Sue
