I am 71 years young, married to my first love for 51 years. We live in Maine, VACATIONLAND. We came here from England and intended to stay just 2 years. We have stayed here 51 years in the same city and have been very happy here. Our sons had to move away from here alas to find work. That gives us two places we need to go to visit. Summer we try to catch up with the grandchildren.

My Goals:
My goal is to be as healthy, fit and happy as possible. I like to see places in Maine in our small Motor Home and drive it as long as I can.

My Program:
I have always tracked food due to allergies so that goal is almost met. Improving my fitness (after a back injury cramped my style) is a little harder. I use my stepper to stregthen my leg that was adversely affected from the surgery. I love to walk outdoors in the summer. In the winter I have to overcome my fear of falling on ice so I walk on the treadmill daily.

Personal Information:
My name is Pat my mother was Nora, hence Noraspat. I was born during World War 2 in England. My mother, brother and I were homeless till I was about 10 years old. I never met our father. Our mother always told us. We will be Clean, Honest and you will both be well educated. That was the way it was. We were poor and happy living with any relative who would take us in for a while.

Other Information:
My husband and I rent movies, nothing nasty we lived with enough nasty in our childhood during the war. We like comedy and old classic Mystery. We miss Alistair Cooke masterpiece, the newer ones are often not as good as the older ones, times change and I do not. I ran an alterations shop in town for 24 years and loved doing it. The boys are in Upstate NY, California and Nevada and I miss them a lot.

Glad to hear from you. I'm not sure when I drove to FL, but if it was last October/November, I had been in the hospital in NC. Sister had to come get me. and I've been living my life more outside the computer. I DO think of all of you a lot.

Pat,

I am doing good now. Had a rough patch with some family news that sent me into a tail spin and I have finally landed on flat ground and got my bearings back.

I read your posts everyday and really look forward to them so keep on posting. Some I wanted to respond to but it was beyond my capabilities there for a while. I am not going to let it bother me anymore because I can't control what others choose to do.

We are having very hot temperatures and it is supposed to continue through the 4th. We are having a BBQ and the residents are really looking forward to it. Just hot dogs and hamburgers and a pot luck for the salads and desserts. The manager gave me money to purchase the meat and buns. I was a little concerned about finding someone to man the grill but it happened. He is back in town and will always come and help us cook. There will be about 30, near as I can tell. Some will invite family and caregivers.

Have a good week,

Brenda in Chehalis, WA

emoticon dear Pat for your kind words on my blogs about Ethiopia. You might not be a traveller, yet you left your home country and moved to the USA all those years ago... That took lots of courage and means you have broader horizons than most people!
Have a beautiful Sunday! emoticon
