Cat's Corner

I lost 71 pounds in 2009. In 2012 I gained 8 and was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Since then I have been getting proper medication and adjustments and have lost 3.

Thanks to SP and my various team mates I have learned how to deal with these life curves rather than giving in to them and eating myself chubby.

In February 2009 it was time for me to make some major changes in my life, healthwise but it felt like I was only treading water and needed some help. That's when someone told me about SparkPeople.

And, sparks flew, so to speak because things started clicking and I started losing weight and learning how to modify my food intake to make all my goals to change possible.

Exercise? Not until I figured out it was necessary to get healthy.

So, my determination to get and stay healthy forever has only been possible to achieve with SparkPeople.

Lipservice doesn't make for change. Only fork down and activity up does.

Continue to get my cholesterol numbers down by continued exercise and diet.

My Program:
Walk every day.
My eating habits minimize the amount of calories, carbs, and very importantly the amount of saturated fat and cholesterol that pass through my lips.
Maintain my weight and continue to reduce my cholesterol.

Personal Information:
I live in Diamond Point, which is west of Port Townsend and east of Sequim, WA. We over look Discovery Bay, the Strait of Juan DeFuca and out to Mt. Baker.
Currently we have two cats (Buzz and Joey) and a tri-color Sheltie, Sammy.
Oh, and I have a 'significant other' with whom I have lived since 1990.

Other Information:

Thank you for the birthday goodie CAT! I probably should get back to the gym after the holidays until gardening season starts again. It's been a nice day.

Cat,
Thanks for the birthday greeting. My fantasy gift would be a huge travel budget so I could visit all corners of the country and explore your beautiful area.

Thank you for visiting my SparkPage to welcome me to the team. What a beautiful part of the country you live in. I was in Washington only once many years ago, but remember it fondly. I just returned from a trip to Oregon this week. The PNW is simply gorgeous.

I live about 45 minutes southwest of Roanoke. It's the "big city" I escape to for shopping and dinner out when I need a break from sleepy small town.
