I'm 42, mother of a teen, have been significantly overweight, though variably, most of my life since puberty. Working on life changes in several areas. Weight is a HUGE issue, and I've tried more times than I can count now, but I'm ready for a new start! I could have set a bit lower weight goal for my height (145 at 5'1"), but I wanted a modest overall goal, and have been happy at that weight before and maintained that for a few years.
I'm more about the lifestyle change vs. diet plan, but mostly plant based (not strictly). I'm a pro-organic, environmentalist and pretty crunchy granola!
My weaknesses are red meat, Netflix and ice cream!

My Goals:
Get to 145 lbs in one year. Transitioning to a mostly vegan/plant-based diet.
Gain cardiovascular endurance and flexibility.
Working up to running and getting back into martial arts. Like to punch and kick things.
Seriously shrink my waistline.

My Program:
I'm walking at least 30 minutes a day, moderately paced. I drink at least 8 cups of water a day. Committing to food tracking a low-fat, very low--sugar, (mostly) plant and whole grain based diet. Stretching and yoga on rising and before sleeping. Working toward 8 hours of sleep each night. Detoxing my body and life.

Personal Information:
I live in beautiful Colorado, where there is lots to do if you want an active lifestyle.

Other Information:
I am working to lose weight for health reasons, and am not working toward "thin" or someone else's beauty ideal. I think society is really out of balance and the level of expected thinness for women of all ages is unhealthy and overtly masculine. Women's bodies vary from boyish to buxom, and women should feel great to be strong, healthy, and have curves!
