You are so lovely and I SO appreciate all your words of support. Guess what? I believe you when you say I can stick with this, and free myself of obesity/overweight. I have been stuck in a period of feeling like a failure, like I am doomed to live out my days trapped in fat, but that feeling is lifting. I am slow, and I am a struggler, but I am also a fighter and it is very hard for me to give up in defeat, no matter how tired or defeated I feel. As far as your 5k you ABSOLUTELY CAN! A 5k is such a good distance to shoot for - short enough to be do-able, long enough to be a challenge, and, once you have mastered it, a nice distance to keep in your exercise regime. Let me know how the training goes.
