Rebranded and staging a comeback

Hauling my size 22 butt back up on the wagon...again. Obesity is like drug abuse for me. I get clean and maintain a healthy lifestyle for a couple years, but I crack under pressure. Stress from my life, my job...I slowly start eating those unhealthy "convenience foods" and cravings start creeping back in. Stress disturbs my sleep and I wake up exhausted and unmotivated. I drag through my work day, handling stress with more caffeine and sugar just to get through. Then I crash on the couch ...
Then I crash on the couch in the evenings too tired to do anything but too brain-wired to sleep. (Read M. Pick''s, "Are You Wired and Tired?"...YES!!!). Something''s gotta change and it starts with ME! I am a Nurse Practitioner and I KNOW BETTER! I could write a freaking book on weight loss and exercise. My Master''s thesis was on sleep and I''ve done a ton of research on both adrenal fatigue and diabetes (which I WILL develop someday, based on severe family history of type II). So, it comes to this: me dragging myself humbly back up on the wagon...Begging myself, and God, for forgiveness for my gluttony and sloth. Starting today with 15 minutes on the elliptical and a healthy breakfast...and my 32oz water bottle, which I will carry with me all day. Baby steps...but the route is well worn and familiar. I just have to stay on it and off the couch!
