Our fur babies, Pogo & Spanky. RIP my little Spanky Boy! You are missed!
This is what being overweight feels like, minus the smile
Sunflowers from a local produce stand...they make me happy!

I'm on a spiritual/mental/emotional journey to find out why all this knowledge I have about how to lose weight doesn't do me any good at times. I know what to do, I just don't always apply it, so I'm on a journey to figure out why. It IS a journey, not a jail sentence, because if it feels like a jail sentence, I won't stick with it. The real jail sentence is living in this morbidly obese body and not having the energy to do what I want to do. So here I go on this journey that is my life!

I'm a young-at-heart 42-year old Presbyterian Youth Director & Christian Educator currently living in western Ohio. I've been overweight all my life. I lost 70 lbs. 10 years ago and kept it off for almost 5 years until I had kids. I want to feel that good again, and even BETTER! I don't want anything to hold me back from my dreams! I'm ready to do this, and help you do it too!
My ultimate goal is to be under 220 lbs. by our 10th wedding anniversary in Oct. 2013 (want to do a vow renewal ceremony and a wear a dress smaller than my wedding dress). Short term goal is to lose 1.5 lbs. a week.
1) Eat 3 servings of fruit & veggies daily
2) Exercise 15 mins. 5 days a week and work my way up to 30 mins. a day 5 days a week
3) Make sure I'm reading SOMETHING motivational, inspirational, spiritual, or self-help related every day
4) Don't drink ANY soda (diet or regular)
5) Drink at least 8 glasses of water daily
6) Measure my body & record on SP on 1st of each month
Watch portion sizes, eat only when hungry, move as much as possible, eat protein at every meal and snack, read books on emotional eating/self-esteem, pray, celebrate each victory (no matter how small).
I'm Christine, and I'm a southerner transplanted to western Ohio. I'm 43 and have 2 small children (we met in our 30's so we're older parents). We also have 1 fur baby (of the canine variety). I currently work as a Presbyterian Youth Director and Christian Educator and might be seeking a career change.
I've got a nutty sense of humor. I'm a big Snoopy fan (if you couldn't tell from my profile name!). I love to get online when I have time (once again, the kid-thing). I'm a resource junkie, so I love hearing about books, websites, etc., that others have found helpful in their spiritual and weight loss journey. I'd also love to talk to older moms who had kids at age 35 or later. I don't discriminate when it comes to friends on here. I figure I can learn something from each person I encounter. I look forward to encouraging you and learning from you!
