NYINME's SparkPage

It's been almost two years since I joined Spark People. I had a hard time with logging food and sticking to "the plan." I almost gave up entirely. Then I paid for the Spark Coach for a year, and found the access to articles very helpful. I gave myself permission to stop logging food on my Spark Page (it was so time consuming); and instead, to simply allow myself to log goals and exercise. Making "changes" on the food is possible, but takes so much effort. However, it was a start. I truly ...
I truly believe in logging food.

This summer, my son introduced me to the FitBit app on my iPhone. I don't have a Fitbit, but am using the free app as my calorie counter and exercise logger. It helps keep track of not only my daily intake, but my calories burned so that I know throughout the day if I'm on or off "target." I have lost weight by doing this.

Spark People has been a big part of my life and I am very grateful to the many benefits, most of them FREE! However, now that I'm supplementing it with other programs such as the FitBit calorie counts (I've counted calories on and off my whole life, nothing's been as user-friendly!), I am actually losing weight.

One more thing: At the beginning of my day OR at the end of my night, I love checking in on Spark just to remind myself to keep track of what I've been doing to take care of myself. I love reading other people's stories and finding my "community" here. Thank you all.

And thank you, Coach Nicole, for being so helpful and upbeat and generally adorable!

Hey, thanks for the add! Looks like we have some authors in common. I love Stephen King and George RR Martin, and have read all of the Harry Potter books.
