In retirement I find great peace and pleasure in the mountains and spend much of my summer and early fall walking and hiking in the Yellowstone area. Winters we spend indoors, but I love the ice and snow....crystalline beauty.
Reasons to Lose Weight
1. To increase health and vitality.
2. To design and begin building my future health (and the future begins anew each minute).
3. To wear clothes I enjoy and feel good in.
4. So I can get dressed and then forget about how I look and enjoy the day without that unpleasant feeling of “fat awareness” lurking in the back of my mind.

My Goals:
My goal is to achieve and maintain a healthy weight.....about 42 pounds less than I now weigh....and in so doing lower my blood pressure, get control of inflammation (insulin resistance, etc.), increase my energy, and thereby enjoy life more fully.

My Program:
At this time, I am tracking my calories and exercise on SP although I have modified their suggestions slightly as far as distribution goes....I eat fewer carbs, more protein in order to manage insulin resistance. I also check their nutritional feedback each night...this is an incredible tool and I very much appreciate it.

Personal Information:
I am a native Californian who has spent most of my adult life in the South/SouthEast and in South/Central America as my husbands career kept us on the move.We are now retired and living in Idaho....I so love it here....the abundance of natural beauty is a constant delight.
