Hello there! Doesn't look like the ol' groundhog had any clue this year when it comes to our weather, does it? I'm sorry to hear you've been battling injury. Sounds like you are doing what you can; hang in there! Hope you have a good weekend, and hope they are wrong about this 'snow business!!! emoticon emoticon

Thanks so much for your comment on my page. I will hang in there. It's just discouraging when I undo all of the gains I've made by running when I stuff my face with ice cream. What am I thinking? I'm such an emotional eater. But baby steps. I know that when I feel physically stronger, I feel better about myself and that starts to translate into other areas of my life, such as nutrition. It will get better!

Hi, Theresa.

It's so good to hear from you. I'm sorry that you've experienced the same struggles that I have over the past several months. It's a shame that we've pushed ourselves so hard trying to juggle too much, but at least we've both realized that we needed to take a step back. I'm so glad you are taking a little time to focus on yourself and your family.

As for me, despite my best intentions to take a couple months off work, I was offered a job that was part-time with flexible hours, so I decided to take it. I figured it was a good long-term opportunity for some balance. At the moment, I'm not sure I made the right decision, as I am already finding some of the promises made by the company are falling by the wayside. That said, it is still a million times less stressful than my previous job so I am willing to try and work out the kinks to see if I can still find that balance.

Like you, I have not yet found the right groove. Eating is a little bit better, but there is still no time for exercise. I only have time once the kids are asleep, but my 3-year old has been waking up frequently, thereby making it impossible to workout for any length of time. I am hopeful this is just a phase and soon I will have my workout time again.

Anyway, let's do check in with each other more often, if anything just to commiserate. Take care & chat soon.

Hi, Theresa! It's so great to hear from you! I so understand where you are coming from -- when I first joined SP in June 2008, I weighed about 145 pounds and lost about a pound a week until I got to my goal weight of 125 pounds. After baby #2, I got to 125 pounds around July 2011. Today I'm at 137 pounds, so I'm closer to where I started than to where I want to be.

Right now, I just don't have time to exercise. I recently changed jobs and after the kids are in bed, I work. Every night. I'm exhausted and don't know if I can keep us this pace much longer. The "plus" side my new job is that I'm so busy during the day that I don't have time to mindlessly eat. I eat what I've packed for lunch & snacks during the few minutes I have between meetings.

Aside from work, I'm having a great summer. Lots of biking and spending time with the family. So glad to hear that you're enjoying summer before heading back to school. You have one more year of your Master's degree, right? And are you still on the city council? You're a busy, busy lady!

Do drop me a line every once in awhile to let me know how you're doing. If you stay on track, it will inspire me to stay on track. If you're so busy and you can do it, then I can too!
