Loving Life and Getting Stronger Every Day!

I'm happily married to my best friend and the mother of a preschooler. I've had weight problems my entire life. I am hoping to end those problems forever by focusing on HEALTH, not necessarily numbers.

I previously was learning to love pushing myself by running, kickboxing, dancing, strength training and doing yoga - all at home. Now I need to rediscover that love! I was doing great and then completely derailed gaining back everything and more over the last 2 years.

I work part time at a couple jobs, stay home with my 5 year old part time and do some volunteering, along with taking a class that interests me every now and then (not for credit). Trying to find balance between all of that and making health a priority!

I have a long way to go, but I am so proud of how far I came in the past. I did it before, I can do it again!

Current Status:
OMMAMA7 so far today: oatmeal and milk, 2.6 mi walk outside, banana, water, vitamins :) 4700 steps at 9:30 this morning so far.

My name is Katie, I'm a mom and wife - my favorite "jobs" lol :) Also I am the treasurer of an association, I volunteer at the local library and work part time at my hubby's family business.

Other Information:
I love reading (which is quite helpful on the treadmill) and I love nature, though I'm still learning how to get out in it more often. I'm also into learning to meditate, working on my mind and spirit as well as body.

I have never cooked goat, but I do like to eat it. I've had it two ways: Goat vindaloo, which is Indian curry, and Jamaican goat curry. Both are very bold flavors which work well with goat, which tastes like like a goat smells, like grass/hay. It's not gamy like lamb, but it has a distinctively grassy quality. It's also very lean, so I imagine you probably shouldn't cook it too long. =)

I would love knowing a butcher shop like yours!

I have eaten rabbit, gator, bison, quail, pheasant (tastes just like freakin' chicken to me), goat, duck. And probably a few other things.

I have heard that about pork brains! I would definitely try it but I don't think I would cook it at home. emoticon
