Call me llou

Hi. I'm llou -- female, 59, who needed to lose about 50 pounds for health reasons. My fantasy had been to lose more like 75 pounds, but I doubted that will happen. On 4/13/13 I hit the "50 pounds lost" mark. Wow! Then I made it to 55 pounds lost. Wow again!

But in the last 2 years, I have re-gained about 30 pounds. That frightens me. I am now struggling to get back on track.

My Goals:
To establish and maintain a healthy lifestyle that results in:
1. Weight loss of 1 pound per week
2. Blood sugars within normal limits without medication
3. Consistent normal BP on current meds (or fewer meds)
4. An inner feeling of strengh, flexibility, and health -- both mentally and physically.

My Program:
Trying to reduce the amount I eat at night -- while eating sensibly during the day. Trying to do exercise DVD's of at least 30 minutes 5 times per week.

Personal Information:
Female, single, 58 years old, no kids.


Other Information:
I work 2 jobs -- one full time, one part time -- and don't have a lot of time for social and fitness activities.

Hi friend, as you were stating you had lost weight in the past but had regained the weight. I think the best way to do this is to remember what motivated you to lose the 50 lbs in the first place and go back to that mindset. We are about the same age and it is not easy but due to my health problems I have no choice but to lose to remain healthy in the coming years. Good luck I feel you can do it again!!!!

Great post on the September thread this morning. When I say, "Ugh! I gained 5 lbs over the summer!" heavier folks will often comment that it's nothing. But the lighter you are, the more 5 lbs is.

Awesome work on your amazing loss!
