Work toward a healthier me. I don't have to like it, I just have to DO IT!!

I have returned to SparkPeople. I've continued to gain a little weight every year and now I'm 70 pounds overweight. If I keep on the same course, my health will suffer. I've never lost more than 10-20 pounds. It keeps finding me! I would like to remove the extra weight and become a healthier me before I turn 60.

When I was on SparksPeople before, I wasn't ready. This is it...there are no more excuses. No one can do it but ME!

My Goals:
Become a healthier me. I can't do it any younger. :-)

My Program:
1. Log everything I eat. Seeing it in print makes me take responsibility for what I eat.

2. Walk 30 min. 5 days a week.

3. Aerobics at the very least 20 minutes three times a week.

4. Give myself rewards every 5-10 pounds.

Personal Information:
I am from a small town in Northwest Ohio. I have been married for 39 years to my highschool sweetheart. I have two married children, 5 grandchildren. I have worked as a nurse in the OB department for 25 plus years. I have been the OB Clinical Co-ordinator for 10 years, but still get my "baby high" by occasionally working on the floor.

Other Information:
I like to babysit, travel, walk, read, write Haiku poetry, dance, sketch, draw pictures of my family, plus take and edit photos. I collect nurse figurines and baby figurines. I love the beach, sun and sand. I plan to travel more when we are both retired.

Thank you for your concern for Jordan. He is still sick but I talked to him this morning and he was doing a lot better than yesterday. I am taking off next Friday and will have him Thursday and Friday night. I plan on continuing to spoil him.

I am so pleased to see the update on your dear grandson. The pictures you shared on your last blog so moved me, both your grandchild's drawing, and your loving tribute to your lost grandchild. It was a day of much turmoil, such elation and heart wrenching pain. I continue to hold your family in my prayers. May each day bring all of you a little more peace.

Your new Grand baby boy is so precious, Opal. Thanks for letting me know the story behind your spark page. That indeed makes it super special. Our daughter in law lost a baby this year too. I wrote a poem but not ready to give it to her yet. I will someday but she is having a very difficult time as she is 40 and she is worried she won't ever have a baby. I do feel so sorry for her and know how she must ache.

Take care and again - thanks for sharing the story.

Hugs, Sunny
