In the past couple of years I have been diagnosed with 4 pain conditions - FMS, Allodynia, Arthralgia and Neuropathy. I have a spinal injury which occurred at age 10 (but never pinpointed till age 41) and also sustained 5 herniated discs and arthritis in my spine. It is a challenge finding the fine line between the right amount of activity and going beyond that - which often results in prolonged periods of immobility. This has impacted adversely on my ability to exercise, and my weight has crept up as a result.

I am now trying to eat more consciously and be more aware of portion control. Like many Spark Page members, I do love my food.

I love meeting new friends, so feel free to stop by and say hello.

My Goals:
Movement as often as possible.

Keep focusing on the positives.

Treat myself well, and focus on taking the small steps, one at a time.

My Program:
Being mindful of portion control.

Move my body as much as I can within limits.

Never give up.

Personal Information:
I was born and live in the lovely South Australian city of Adelaide again, after spending 8 years in Hobart and 4 in Melbourne.

Other Information:
I love animals, and lost my beloved cat Coco aged 17, in December 2009.

My interests include travel (reading, TV shows and DVDs) since I am a bit restricted in getting about; occasional bursts of creativity (writing, art); reading; photography; and I am an Anglophile who would love to visit the UK one day...

Inspirational Quote:

People who succeed have momentum. The more they succeed, the more they want to succeed, and the more they find a way to succeed. Similarly, when someone is failing, the tendency is to get on a downward spiral that can even become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

emoticon Natticia! So good to hear from you. Hope this day is going good for you! Glad you enjoyed the blog and thank you for commenting. I always feel better when going to the beach,= the sea air and the crashing waves sounds, & the seabirds. Not too crazy about the sand...tracking it everywhere, but it's not bad either. I am glad I have that video right there for easy access for myself even, I can sit and relax while watching it.
Take care and hope you are feeling ok. emoticon

Nattacia,
Thank you for your thoughtful comment, goodie and prayers. I think people that have had to deal with severe fatigue have a much better concept of how hard it is. I totally agree with you about the pacing. It doesn't do me any good to try to push through....I've learned it can cause major setbacks. I also agree that both crohn's and celiac can cause fatigue all on their own. I think it's the up and down nature of it that causes so much frustration. After 3 days of barely being able to move, I felt good yesterday. Last night I was exhausted again and have been that way all day today. Clearly, I don't have a lot of reserves right now.

Anyway, I really appreciate knowing that you truly understand. I wish you the best with your own pain and fatigue issues. Pain on top of fatigue is even harder. I believe we can both heal. We both need to continue to take the best care of ourselves as we can.

Hugs,
Kay
