Old Glory 5K run

Hello!
My name is Dee and I live in Northern Minnesota. My goal is to get healthy and learn to stay that way.
My long term goal is to weight 154 lbs. and then re-evalutate
Right now what is big for my family is preparing for our first 5K run. We have chosen the Old Glory Run in Cold Springs, Minnesota. This event supports the Disabled Vets of Minnesota. What a great cause! Wish us luck!

Week #1 Drink 8 glasses of water each day.
Walk 9 miles per week on the treadmill/road
1 hour of water aerobics x 2 times this week.
Get the bike out once the snow is gone.

Hi! The Chamber buys and gets all the money from sales. They give our Parrot Head Club a couple thousand dollars a year because we volunteer for many activities all year long on the island. The money they give our club goes to local charities. It's a win win thing.
Our potatoes came up today and I'm so excited. We got a nice rain tonight and God's rain always does more than our watering! Hope you can get your garden in soon! Hugs!!

Workout pics are quite the motivation, eh? In that case, send me a million! LOL I have fallen off the bandwagon and every time I reach for a rope I drop it. Yikes! Good news, though. We joined the Y on Friday and played at the pool with the littles on Saturday and I'm looking forward to some alone time at the gym. Just have to figure out which day or two will be mine and which ones will be hubbies.

You'll do great at the 5K!

It's so warm I am having no problem getting the water consumed, lol. That is not been much of a challenge for me, I drink a lot of water.
Taco recipe looked awesome!!!! I love fish tacos and shrimp tacos! One day when you come visit out here we will hit up some of the little places around here that do them. Let's just say mmmmmmmmmm. ;)
Today was a relax at home kind of day. Yay! Went out to dinner with some friends tonight, we had Japanese. It was awesome.
I am basically walking Trixie around the block. My knee has been upset with me since we went to the beach on Tuesday. It was a new beach, and the path to it was rather steep. Guess I won't be tackling Mt Everest anytime soon, lol. Mountain climbing is totally off the program. When my knee is feeling better, there is a route a walk in the neighborhood that is a mile. I was trying to do that a couple of times a day.
Tomorrow morning is church, and then I play in the Spanish church service also, and an afternoon with the family. Also have orchestra rehearsal in the late afternoon, evening service at church, and then an ensemble practice. Since we play in all the services, it really is kind of my music day, lol. (2 morning services, Spanish service, and night service)
Monday afternoon we are taking the littles I watch to the beach, our regular one so no mountains involved, lol. I love to walk on the hard pack sand by the water. We will go every Monday afternoon now until the crowds of summer hit. Then we will probably move it to early evening and do dinner picnics. Love to do that! I am debating about boogie boarding, I really want to go, but am a little scared of what my knee will do. Sometimes those waves can really give you a good knocking around. I will probably wait a few more weeks...
Well, I really ought to get off, I need to head to bed!

Thats amaxing! You have made it to spring on your harvest! I can't wait until that's me, too. Wow, I think that was the high light of my day, you telling me that! I'm looking forward to hearing about your spring planting. We just got our garden plots, haven't really done anything with them yet but April (daughter) has tilled hers up and is ready to plant. She has been waiting for a long time for it. I was telling her yesterday about that kind of gardening where you don't turn the dirt or disturb it, I know so little about it but very interested.
