Short term Goals:
Week #1 Drink 8 glasses of water each day.
Walk 6 miles per week on the treadmill/road
1 hour of water aerobics x 2 times this week.
30 day plan is to be consistant with meals/water and exercise.

My Program:
I want to walk on the treadmill and go to water aerobics.
Eating clean is my goal and keeping white starch and sugar out of my diet.

The scale is only a guide. If you stayed within your calorie range, you did not deposit any new fat on your body. Tell yourself that the scale can sometimes hold on to extra water, leading you to think that you are not making any progress. Before you go to bed, pat yourself on the back and tell yourself, "I stayed within my calorie range today; therefore I did not gain any fat." Tell yourself that and stay on plan.

Hey Dee! Sorry I haven't been in contact much--life here is busy as usual! The challenge is being... well, CHALLENGING. I haven't seen much progress weight -wise, which is terribly frustrating. But this last week or so I've found my motivation again. I joined a crossfit class with my SIL and am loving it. Who knew lifting weights could be so exciting (and sweat/heartrate-inducing!) Our coach is great. Very one-on-one with advice and instructions. Good group of people to hang out with, too!

I think we will stick with our family tradition for Halloween--Daddy takes the kids downtown for trick or treating at the businesses in the early afternoon, then stops at all our country neighbors (they get totally spoiled by the neighbors!), then they will come home for the pizza I've made and we'll all watch a couple movies together. I'm planning on classics like It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown and maybe the Nightmare Before Christmas. :-) It's a fun low-key evening. Of course, there will be WAY too much candy, and I'll have a bugger of a time staying away from it. I'm thinking of heading into the school fieldhouse early on Saturday to run off anything I do eat!

Hi Dee,

Thanks for your sympathy for Ellen. It will be difficult saying goodbye on Saturday but I do know that hse is in a better place and no longer in pain, which does help too.


PS: We need to do lunch soon!

Happy Sunday to you. I have a Y membership through the medical insurance we have besides medicare, the Y membership is free to us with our extra coverage so I don't know what it costs. This added feature it nice and lets seniors stay active, without paying any up front coats---except if you want an special classes and gym pro--then you pay for that. Pool classes are free thou I think you have something to look forward to come Nov. when you get some time for swimming, sort of your winter go to.
