Tired of the struggle, but I won't give up.

Oubache is the Native American word for the Wabash, a river that runs near our home and that I see every day. Some days the river runs fast, and others it's a bit lazier. It can be calm and serene, or swift and exciting. The Wabash changes every day. Like the river, I am changing every day as I try to live a healthier life. Some days I'm quiet, some days I'm in a rush, but I'm always moving forward. That is why I chose the screen name Oubache.

I have been struggling with my weight for years. It seems I always need to lose 15 or 20 pounds. I'm a very active person, and do my best to eat healthy meals, but the weight never comes off very quickly. Therefore, I try to focus on being healthy, but there will always be a skinny girl in me trying to get out.

My Goals:
My goal is to finally figure out what it takes to get this weight off and then KEEP it off. I love running but I love food, especially sweets, so finding balance and learning how to fuel this body correctly remains a challenge for me.

My Program:
I have been running for about 4 years now and love it. I run with a group at a local running store 2 or 3 times per week. I've run over 30 5Ks and three half-marathons. I really enjoy the challenge and how great I feel after a run.

Personal Information:
My name is Jennifer and I live in north central Indiana. I enjoy being outside, gardening and working in the yard. I especially enjoy herb gardening and growing heirloom varieties of flowers and vegetables.

Other Information:
I enjoy my pets, reading, genealogy, travel, gardening, and, of course, running. My husband and I have 2 grown daughters.

It would be GREAT to train together! I, however, am just restarting --- 5 lbs heavier than the last race and NO training since Oct. 2015. I would like to wait 3-4 weeks before partnering. :( Should I message you when I feel a little better about my training (or lack thereof)?

Also, about chia and flax seeds. I didn't try them again after Oct...but that's ANOTHER thing to restart...! emoticon

I've been here all along. Living life with it's ups and downs. Hormones are driving me nuts right now. But all in all I'm ok. Hope you are well.
