Oubache Waves

Oubache, pronounced "wee-BAH-shee" is the Native American word for the Wabash, a river that runs near our home and that I see every day. Some days the river runs fast, and others it's a bit lazier. It can be calm and serene, or swift and exciting. The Wabash changes every day. Like the river, I am changing every day as I try to live a healthier life. Some days I'm quiet, some days I'm in a rush, but I'm always moving forward. That is why I chose the screen name Oubache.

My Program:
I'm doing the running program in the Rodale book, Run Your Butt Off. So far, so good. I really want to do a 5K and not come in last. This has been a goal of mine for awhile, but historically I've not been good about taking positive steps to reach that goal. This time I really think I'm going to succeed!

Personal Information:
My name is Jennifer and I live in north central Indiana. I enjoy being outside, gardening and working in the yard. I especially enjoy herb gardening and growing heirloom varieties of flowers and vegetables.

I work with international graduate students and have enjoyed making friends from all over the globe.

Other Information:
I enjoy my pets (1 dog, and 4 cats), gardening, and watching the birds in our backyard. I also love to read and to travel whenever I get the chance.

I love animals. A dream of mine is to open an animal sanctuary for unwanted senior citizen cats and dogs.

emoticon for your support on my emoticon blog! I hope you've been doing well, and your recovery was quick!! I've had some issues with my hip, and after running her first full marathon my roommate had to take some PT to get her hip back to normal, so I know how hard it is to recover from that!!

Thank you so much for your support on my food/gardening blog! How have you been? Did you run any 5Ks this summer, or are you running any this fall?

Have a fantastic weekend!

Thank you so much for your advice on my gardening blog! I finally managed to make it back over to my plot this afternoon, and three of the tomatoes are starting to turn red!! You were right, I just needed to give them more time and be patient!

I hope you had a great weekend!

Thanks for your comments!! It has been stressful this year with selling the house. Lucky for us we sold it to the first couple that looked at it. Now just continuing to downsize so the move to Florida will be light. I see you are near the Wabash River. We are about 3 miles away from it. We have Bald Eagles nesting nearby and get to see them once in a while. Hope to chat with you real soon. emoticon

Thanks so much for your support on my blog! Oh boy, I can't imagine trying to bathe the cat and then get her into her carrier afterwards, she HATES the carrier almost as much as the bath! You're very brave! emoticon

It was definitely an experience...but my allergies have been a lot better since then, so I'm thinking it might be something to do more regularly! If you have a method, please share! I don't want to get scratched up again!
