Live well, Laugh often, Love much...

I have been overweight all my life, but in my later years have been more aware of the challenges that gives me. I have lost around 20 lbs and have just recently found this site. And what a site it is! I am positive that I will find friends, support and encouragement to "DO IT!" this time.
UPDATE: 6/23/10 I'm doin' it this time, as I said I would! SparkPeople works...if you let it! UPDATE: 9/25/10 170 by Valentine's Day 2011 UPDATE: 1/4/11 Unexpected and much needed total hip ...

UPDATE: 6/23/10 I'm doin' it this time, as I said I would! SparkPeople works...if you let it! UPDATE: 9/25/10 170 by Valentine's Day 2011 UPDATE: 1/4/11 Unexpected and much needed total hip replacements (R) on Dec 21st and (L) Apr 5th. changed my life and goals. UPDATE: 6/23/11 DD's wedding is 7/9 and altho 30 lbs from goal, I'm planning n lookin' pretty good for an old gal! NEW GOAL: 170 by my b-day mid Sept!!
Well, didn't make THAT goal. Going to TRY to get back to Sparking. New Year, Fresh start. Jan 1, 2013 I want goal by July. I want to have clothes that are comfortable ALL the time. I want to be fit enough to walk the beach in Aug when I go to FL w/son and fam. I want to be in CA a yr from today watching the Rose Parade in it's 125th year.

My Goals:
My goals are to feel better, losen my stiff joints and maintain that, drop a few sizes in my clothing, get the weight off, once and for all and to MAINTAIN it! I haven't stayed below 200 pounds since I was in grammar school, so it's about time!!
The above was written when I joined. 5/20/2012: I have since had two hip replacements and lost 30#'s. I am still 45#'s from goal. Can't seem to focus but will never give up!

My Program:
1/10/11 UPDATE Below!
Since being told I am a good candidate for hip replacement 8/09, I don't do the pedometer so much. I am working this winter so have concentrated on eating healthy and staying positive. The lbs ARE coming off. UPDATE 5/10/10... Since Lent started this yr (2/24) I have stopped eating sweets and NO snacking between meals. I have decided that I am addicted to sweets. I feel so much better and have lost almost 30 lbs. I enjoyed LOTS of chocolate on Easter Sunday and decided that this felt too good, so I am now waiting til June 4th, for my next treat day. It's working, I am feeling better since I am getting more flexible, to start my day, the pedometer gets put on the belt of my robe in the morning again, I'm getting so many compliments and just have a much better outlook on life. This is the way I will live happily ever after.
Update Jan 2011 I got a right total hip replacement Dec21st. Doing terrific, 1/10/11. Limited moves for awhile. I will get

Personal Information:
I am a married mother of 4 with 3 wonderful grandkids, Mikayla, Kevin and Giana. And a new great grandson, Jaaron, as of 5/17/11. update..I've added a new ggrandaughter, Alissa and have 2 more greats on the way! I'm from south of Chicago, retired and now live in the beautiful Ozarks!

Other Information:
A fav saying: Some mistakes are too much fun to make only once!! ;)I LOVE high school football, followed by college football...GO AUBURN! I'm also a die hard Cubs Fan...they did it! Clinched their division! Go Cubbies!!! A few yrs since that happened, but still love those Cubbies. I love plants and do gardening... mostly flowers...my veggie garden cooked this yr along with many others' down here. I truly enjoy watching and feeding the birds...right now I have a little hummer pruning it's wings outside my window.
