-Female variety obese type 1 person.-

- I swear like a sailor and I still engage in poor behaviors despite my desire to be more healthy. I do not see these things as mutually exclusive. -

- Vegan. I aim for WFPBNO, but always vegan. But I'm not a d*ck about it.-

- In general, I am cynical. Specifically, I can be quite understanding and accepting of things. -

- Married, with one human offspring (born July 2014), 1 bastard cat, 7/8 of a very good dog, and 15/16 of a very excited puppy.

- I am a stubborn scientific atheist. I tend towards the Dawkins type of atheism, as I have seen religion function to disinfranchise and stagnate civilizations far more than help them. As long as you don't pray for me though, we'll be okay. -

***NOTE: If you insist on praying for me-- I will delete your comments. My page is a prayer free, religious free area.***

My spark-iquette is as follows:

I love comments. I will comment on your blog, and I will be honest but kind or at least civil. I'm wordy, but I don't expect you to be for me.

When I receive comments, I love them. I read them carefully and savor each word.

I am not an "I love you too" person. Each comment I get, each sparkgoodie, is cherished, but I do not immediately respond with a comment or sparkgoodie in return. I want this journey to be cumulative and growing and real and appreciated-- so when I give a goodie, it's because there is something specific that I want to do for the recipient, be it encouragement, celebration, sympathy, or just plain goofiness. Same thing for comments.

I clean out my friends list regularly. I want this journey to be vibrant and reciprocal. I can't do that with 300 friends that never comment or flat out leave spark for 6 months. If you ever fall off the wagon, please sparkmail me if you come back & want to reconnect!

"SMILE. You are beautiful. Believe it." ~SRWYLIE, a fantabulous, truly good and honestly positive force on spark. He left this comment on one of my blogs when I was feeling down. It's my new mantra.

"I subscribe to the balance theory, that says that when I'm having a super rotten week, it means somewhere in the world someone is having the best week of their life. I try to be grateful for that, instead of angry and resentful. Once or twice I succeed." ~TURTLERASKIN, sparkfriend extraordinaire.

" Knowledge is not enough, people. It takes action to change the world. " ~FLY0NTHEWAL1, another sparkfriend of wisdom

"if I had a nickel for every piece of advice sent my way when it comes to "how you should eat"... I would pay for a brain transplant into the sexiest body I want to live in." ~IRISHBEANERGAL- an effing genius that makes me laugh my @ss off

"The good news is you are still here and Sparking. As long as you are doing that, you are still in touch with your healthy goals. " ~JAMIELOGICAL - a superior grounding force and realist whom I very much admire on spark.

"Don't bother to set goals, it's too easy to either fail, or achieve them and stop, just do as much with each day as you can. " ~STONECOT- a superwoman, who inspires me, makes me laugh, comforts me, helps me feel normal when I'm paranoid and not normal. She's simply awesome.

If you are not hungry enough to eat an apple, you are not hungry. ~Michael Pollan

If I have lost confidence in myself, I have the universe against me. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

To be happy is to be able to become aware of oneself without fright. ~Walter Benjamin

Where there is life, there is hope. ~Grover (Sesame Street)

    Ha!

I carefully did *not* mention ethical/environmental reasons this time, because I was being sneaky. Or thought I was. I can be a bit of a broken record about the former. But if I can appeal to folks on a lower-calorie/no-cholesterol message, I'll take it!

    Wishing you a great week.

Very kind words of support and encouragement! And excellent point about never knowing what the future holds. Your words about your step-grandfather and your friend are great reminders to live today for today -- and not put off good things until some imaginary weight-borderline is crossed. Thank you.

    Sucking cigars though???

Great to know! I have a strong blender but it's pretty old. Chops ice, though. So maybe raw sweet potato would work? I'll try it!

Well, this is the last day to torch calories before tomorrow's weigh in, so get out thee and torch some calories!

Oh, and maybe you'd like to sing "Burn, Baby, Burn!" while you do it.

    Make 'em scream, my friend.
I'll see you at weigh in tomorrow, and I'll be cheering for you!

That dark chocolate became a reality. Ordered something from ebay and they included a pack of six mini dark chocolate bars in different flavors. The due date is soon, so guess they got a bunch free to give out. Like it is going to last that long once it enters my house. Hope your sleep returns to deep and sweet. Have insomnia sometimes but just go do something boring which doesn't always help but get something done. I was out with a sharp evil hoe, taking tiny weeds out by sidewalks and house. Got a good sweat out of it.
