A Healthier Relationship with Food

My aim is to live a healthy, long, active life where I can both savor and enjoy my life and contribute to the well-being of others and my community. I work (yes, it's "work" sometimes) to maintain healthy habits, including mindful eating, portion control, limited sugar/white flour in my diet, and regular cardio and strength exercise... I wear a Spark Activity Tracker, start my day with reading some things that keep me focused, log in on Sparkpeople and try to keep mindful of what I eat and ...

While my implementation of my intentions is less than perfect, part of my practice is to keep on and not be discouraged/ Instead, I affirm each positive thing I do for myself and my body. Strong body, strong mind, strong spirit!

Thanks to this Spark community and other friends in my daily life who are also on this journey. It helps to share it!

My Program:
I am exercising moderately but regularly, and eating more intentionally and carefully. I watch my portions, and treat myself occasionally - really tasting my food and eating mindfully. I'm changing my lifestyle to be more health-oriented and I'm prioritizing self-care.

Their marriage is inspiring. A doctor once told my stepmother that she would live to be 100 (she'll be 92 on Sunday) and she says that would be okay but only if my dad is there too. Very sweet!

Thanks so much. The news last night is that he indeed did lose the right kidney but we knew that was likely, he was starting to wake up and grumpily pushed his gorilla away from the spot mom had placed it 'cause he's always very particular about where it's "supposed" to be. LOL A bit of normalcy showing through. LOL
