"Recovery doesn't have to be a straight line. As long as I am on the road, I must be going somewhere." ~ Ann Wilson Schaef

My husband and I began our weight loss journey May 2009. I started my journey with a different purpose to support my husband, but I soon realized I need to do this for my health. I joined Spark People in August of 2009.

Hi Pat.
I hope you can make today your best day yet, and that you find many reasons to smile.
It can’t always be about our weight, right?

Every day is a new beginning: A day to say 'yes' instead of 'no'. A day to choose a smile, to choose light, to choose love. Every day is a new beginning, a new gift we get to do what we want with. What will you do with your day?

“Write it on your heart
that every day is the best day in the year.
He is rich who owns the day, and no one owns the day
who allows it to be invaded with fret and anxiety.

Finish every day and be done with it.
You have done what you could.
Some blunders and absurdities, no doubt crept in.
Forget them as soon as you can, tomorrow is a new day;
begin it well and serenely, with too high a spirit
to be cumbered with your old nonsense.

This new day is too dear,
with its hopes and invitations,
to waste a moment on the yesterdays.”
― Ralph Waldo Emerson
