Patty Klaver

It's been three and a half years since I began using Spark People. I can't believe how much I have learned about myself! I am eating better and am more fit than I have been in any other time of my life. Most importantly, I have come so very far in improving myself mentally. I know my weaknesses and, with some great suggestions from other Sparkers, I am still learning and wanting to make changes to make me better physically and emotionally. I am trying to stay fresh and motivated. I'm ready ...
I'm ready for the challenge and the change for the better! I have come to rely on the encouragement and support that I get from fellow Sparkers. I'm grateful for what I have learned from others.

My Goals:
I want to eat and exercise correctly every day. I want to improve myself: learn something new every day, stay in a schedule that is good for me, and help others when I can.

My Program:
I am learning more with each passing day and finding more ways to improve myself. Stress and anxiety have been my biggest problems and I've been working hard to overcome them. I sometimes let myself slack on my schedule and am always working on that.

Personal Information:
I am from Detroit. I lived in Alabama for 14 years, but came back home to be back with family. I have two daughters: Sarah lives in Alabama and Sherry lives in Nova Scotia. I'm hoping they move home soon. My email address is pattyklaver@yahoo.com

Other Information:
I love reading, arts and crafts, sports, and spending time with family and friends. I enjoy spending time on SP.

I wanted to say thank you for the support on my blog, and thanks for sharing some of your journey with me! I am glad you can understand where I am coming from, and telling me you've had similar experiences makes me feel like I'm not alone or strange. I never intended or wanted to be around the same weight a year later. But instead of getting down on myself for not "finishing" this thing already, I have to chose to look at the fact that I am still here and I am so much healthier and happier than I was, and I haven't thrown in the towel. I know i could have easily gained back 40-60 pounds in a year if I wasn't at least trying to do something right LOL. And I say "finishing" because I know getting to my goal doesn't mean it's finished, this journey doesn't end he he. But sometimes I think "suck it up and do it" and sometimes I think "what's the hurry" LOL. I am all over the place. But I know we will do it, and whenever that turns out to be, it'll be the right time. :)

I agree completely that college football is better. Their hearts are in it instead of their wallets. I still watch the NFL but not as much as college. Especially my beloved Buckeyes!

Hope you're having a good Sunday!

"Whatever you want in life, start today.
Not tomorrow - today.
Let it be a small beginning - a tiny beginning.
Your happiness depends on starting today - every day."
