Patty Klaver

It's been two years since I began using Spark People. I can't believe how much I have learned about myself! I am eating better and am more fit than I have been in any other time of my life. Most importantly, I have come so very far in improving myself mentally. I know my weaknesses and, with some great suggestions from other Sparkers, I have learned ways that I can improve myself. Now I've got to get my act together and implement some changes in that area! I have to thank all the people ...

Now I've got to get my act together and implement some changes in that area! I have to thank all the people who have supported me the past two years. I couldn't have done it without them.

I look forward to moving forward from here. I know I will learn more and improve myself even more both physically and mentally. I'm ready for the challenge and the change for the better!

There are a LOT of Negative People books on the market. They are in the self help and also the business section of the book store/library. Also, there are tons of on-line sites. Google : "negative people and how to get them out of my life" (remove " marks) and it brings up tons :) Also, in the business area (and probably self help) are books on dealing with problem employees and such which are also basically the same topic. HTT!!

RE potassium in pears and strawberries. I ate a medium sized pear and a whole cup of strawberries to about equal the potassium in 1 banana, but I am a bick "sick of" bananas just now.

My doctor recommended oranges and/or orange juice, neither of which I like, but I do like tangerines. I will have to look up the potassium for those. There is a website called nutritiondata.com that is helpful, also.

I also found a really good list of potassium containing foods at:
http://www.vaughns-1-pagers.com/food/pot
assium-foods.htm

Squash is very high in potassium and also coconut water (1 cupful) has as much as 1 banana.

Hope this helps. emoticon
