One Day at a Time

Following a set diet is not for me so I am working on what suits me.
For me that means a smaller plate (9 inches) and dividing it into quarter protein, quarter carbs and the rest vegetables.
Water is drunk and out goes all fizzy drinks and soft drinks like squash.
New recipes and new ways of cooking are being introduced to lessen the fat content. Flavour is important so finding ways to add interest to vegetables without adding extra calories is being explored.

Exercise is an issue due to pain but not impossible, chair exercise and seated yoga help along with walking, dancing and strength exercises.
I am doing all I can to improve my health and keep active, I care for my Husband and that means I have to be as healthy as possible.
Me time is part of my plan and being creative with keeping a journal, knitting and making items for fun helps me to relax and be as stress free as possible. This in turn helps me be more relaxed about my eating as I am not souly focussed on food.
This is an ongoing thing and not a quick fix progress may be slow but I getting there one day at a time.

Personal Information:
I live in Milton Keynes England with my Husband Colin.

I enjoy knitting and crafting for friends, family and charities.
I love reading Mystery, Crime, Horror, Fantasy, Adventure and Classic novels as well as non-fiction.
The TV and films I like mirror my reading likes.
I write poems, keep a journal and do my best to illustrate it.
I listen to music and my favourite forms are pop, light classical, Neil Diamond and John Denver amongst many others.
I love Nature and work in my garden as much as I can.
My favourite animals are cats, wolves and hares. Mythical beasts I love are Dragons, Unicorns and the Phoenix.


Other Information:
In-between Winter and Spring Challenge is under way. I plan to use this challenge to keep on track.
