In 2012 I started eating a primarily alkalizing diet to stop my body from robbing my bones of precious minerals. Tests showed that bone turnover was returning to normal. I started walking 6000-8000 steps daily wearing a 4 pound weighted vest 4 days a week for at least an hour to help rebuild bone.

Changes to my BHRT caused weight gain between October and December of 2012. I stopped the weight gain by sticking to my alkaline diet and avoiding carbs. I also stepped up the activity as I had let my 6000-8000 steps a day slip.

I started juicing in August 2013. Within 90 days my bone turnover markers were in the normal range. I also added a B12 supplement and have been able to get below my goal weight.

I worked with a nutritionist for 7 years supplementing my body back to health. I have celiac disease and used to have hypothyroidism and adrenal insufficiency. I became ill from work stress and eating food I was allergic to.

But I've come a long way since my diagnosis in 2005.

My Program:
1) Eating whole foods and a highly alkaline diet; juicing daily, eating lots of healthy vegetables and small amounts of lean protein.
2) Maintain activity at 6000-8000 steps daily on the average.
3) Working with a nutritionist to take the appropriate supplements for my situation
