I want to make permanent changes so I do not keep losing and regaining the same weight.
I am planning my menu for the day and trying to become a regular at the gym, including cardio and strength training.
My name is Peggy and I live in Center Valley, PA. This is between Allentown and Coopersburg.
I am involved in fund raising for Breast Cancer treatment and research. I will be participating in my 5th Breast Cancer 3 Day 60 mile walk in Philly, October 16th - 18th, 2009. I read a lot, but don't watch much TV. My favorite quote is: If you always do what you always did, you'll always get what you always got. This tells me if I want to see changes I have to make changes.
You know, something to consider is this. What shoes do you wear when you do Zumba ? Some of the problems with your knees could be related to the shoes you're wearing. Do you wear crosstrainers or regular sneakers ? If so, that might be part of the problem. To do some of those moves, you may need dance shoes instead of gym shoes.
There used to be a funk class at my gym that was extremely popular. Many of the students started wearing a special dance shoe for that class.
So, you might do some research into Zumba shoes. A person shouldn't have to wear special shoes to take a class, but because of your knee, you might need them now. They could help.
Welcome to SP and to our team, OA of the Lower Back!! It's a pleasure to welcome you and to start to get to know you, even though you have already been on our team page and have posted there. Good for you for getting so active here at SP without any support. I'm glad that you found our team, but I am also sorry that you need help in dealing with your back as you work on becoming more healthy in other ways.
I want to wish you the best and to offer my hand in friendship as well. Please let me help you if you need anything as you get settled in here at SP. If you have a question or need support, I'll be there to share what I know.
I'm looking forward to seeing you on our team page!! Gentle hugs, Sylvia
Hi there! I am stopping by to answer the question you posed about my fitbit in the water. I am not sure it tracked my swimming at all as I did a lot of walking/running around in the pool. I think I counted a total of 1,000 steps for a half hour. Not my usual so I don't think it is that reliable. However something was better than nothing. I want all my steps to count.
