November 2015: OOPS... I started med school and did what we really don't want our patients to do... my weight, after creeping up a little, went way up. But I've lost a lot of that extra weight and I'm at 236 now. I am a testament to the idea that this is a lifelong lifestyle change. Still grateful for this wonderful website!

I am a single mom who is a full time student. I have let food become something more in my life than it needs to be, and it's time to change that.
I have lost weight before (I lost 60 pounds after I gave birth) so I know I can do it.
I am ready for a life change, not just a diet.


February 2013: I am in ONEderland now! I am feeling so much happier and healthier now that all of my healthful choices have become habit. I am thinking more positively, eating healthy foods, and my attitude about life in general has improved drastically. I still have about 50 pounds before I'm at my overall goal... but I'm fine taking it slowly and know my changes are life long.



November 2012:
I am 50 pounds down, but at a plateau. Yikes. But because I have been making life changes instead of diet changes, I am okay with it (well, moreso than ever before!). I am going to be healthier in the long run! Yay for SparkPeople for being the fantastic resource it is so that I can go read articles or member blogs whenever I feel myself doubting my life change. Every day I am more sure I've made the right decision.

My Goals:
To improve my mind, health and body.

My ultimate goals are:
- Weigh 150 pounds and maintain (Down 70 pounds from 275-205 as of 1/23/13)
- Have a positive attitude (this goal is going well)
- Maintain healthy eating and exercise habits


My Program:
I track all of what I eat and all the exercise I do on my tracker.
I keep up with SparkTeams and find they offer a ton of support!
I have made a point to make good decisions in my food- especially when eating out.
I am eating fruits and veggies daily and drinking plenty of water.
Most of all, I don't deprive myself. I don't limit what I eat, only the portions, and I make sure I'm satisfied before taking a bite of anything sweet so that I will stop after I've eaten my portion!
