The Journey Continues

I have been on this weight loss journey with SparkPeople for longer than I care to admit and I'm still not where I wanted to be. On a positive note, although I've lost weight and gained some of it back, I haven't gained it all back ... and then some.

I have been re-evaluating what I want and I believe I will be focusing more on my physical abilities rather than the scale. I still expect a by-product of my new focus will be a lower number on the scale.

I've joined the Fall 5% Challenge and I am really eager for it to begin. I know that the structure and accountability that it provides are what helps me to keep heading towards my goal. Of course, my team members are an important part of my success as well.

So that being said, I'm ready to get on the plane ... and let the games begin!

My Goals:
By the end of 2014 I want to be able to take day hikes on a portion of the Appalachian Trail.

I want to explore at least one National Park, including at least 1-2 back country hikes to some more remote locations.

My Program:
***Water exercises, walking, Tai Chi & Zumba (when they begin), gardening and yard work 4X/wk. Strength Training 2X/wk
***FastDiet 5:2 Plan
---Under 600 calories 2X/wk
---moderate eating, including freggies 5X/wk
---Writing down everything I eat everyday.


Personal Information:
I am married to my best friend. We have three adult children, and I'm also the proud grandma of three of the best grandsons anyone could ever want to have.

I am also the human mother of two furbabies - my cats, Sly & Zorra, who travel with us whenever we are gone more than a couple of days.

Kathleen I am thrilled to hear from you. I DID hit onederland in the Spring Challenge and for the first time ever I did lose 5%. I certainly am not the fastest loser.
