Hello, my name is Tim. I've been very overweight all my, one of the biggest obstacles has been my tendency to isolate and shy away from family and friends. I have decided to put myself out there, be vulnerable and trust this leap of faith will lead something great. At this point I have not left my home for more than 2 years and not worked in 7 years. I weighed about 300 lbs when I was 18, kept gaining through my 20's until hitting 600 lbs at 30, now at almost 40 I am getting healthy. My highest weight was in April 2012 @ 730 lbs, I lost some weight and as of January 1st 2014 weigh 612 lbs. God bless!

Hi Tim. It looked like snow in the background of your last vlog - when I watched a second time, I saw that it was actually sunlight! I guess I was expecting to see snow, so I saw it!

Are you able, do you think, to vlog or blog a little about your fear of backsliding as you approach 499lbs? It also pretty much coincides with a tricky time of year.

I think you are beginning to enjoy feeling fitter - and this will be the source of inspiration to continue. Keep walking. Keep lifting those dumbbells and I'm confident that you can transition through the New Yeat and emerge the other side under 500lbs.

***---***THE PARADOX OF OUR TIMES***---***

Is that we have taller buildings, but shorter tempers
Wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints
We spend more, but we have less.
We have bigger houses, but smaller families
More conveniences, but less time.
We have more degrees, but less sense
More knowledge, but less judgement
More experts, but more problems
More medicines, but less wellness.
We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values.
We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often
We have learnt how to make a living, but not a life.
We have added years to life, but not life to years.
Weve been all the way to the moon and back
But have trouble crossing the street to meet the new neighbour.
We have conquered outer space, but not inner space.
Weve cleaned up the air, but polluted our soul.
Weve split the atom, but not our prejudice.
Weve higher incomes, but lower morals.
Weve become long on quantity but short on quality.
These are the times of tall men, and short character;
Steep profits, and shallow relationships.
These are the times of world peace, but domestic warfare,
More leisure, but less fun; more kinds of food, but less nutrition.
These are the days of two incomes, but more divorces;
Of fancier houses, but broken homes.
It is a time when there is much in the show window, and nothing in the stockroom.
A time when technology can bring this letter to you,
And a time when you can choose,
Either to make a difference . or just hit, delete.
