A Lot to Learn in April:

I have a goal this year to find a new healthy habit to incorporate every month. I have planned the months according to what I feel is important for my particular goals (see: A Whole Year to Look Forward To Blog). This will be my roadmap and accountability schedule.

I have a goal this year to find a new healthy habit to incorporate every month. I have planned the months according to what I feel is important for my particular goals (see: A Whole Year to Look Forward To Blog). This will be my roadmap and accountability schedule.

First of all, my name is Colleen and I will reach my 60th birthday in September. I came back to Spark People because I retired and began to pack on the pounds. I have psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis and have dealt with two melanoma incidents and surgeries. This is not the prize at the bottom of the box I thought I was getting.

In January, I learned to stop making so many judgements. I have not conquered the idea, but have made a lot of headway. This is a work in progress.

Now, I am beginning Feelings in February. Since most of what I feel gets stuffed down to the bottom of the deepest, darkest place I can put it, I have decided to explore my feelings this month. That will include everything from anger to jealousy. Some feelings like shame and guilt will be harder than others to release, but I am determined to find as many resolutions as possible.

In March, I tried on a few new kinds of exercise. I tried dancing around the house, circuit type training on my recumbent bike and I'm planning on trying an elliptical machine. I've been in physical therapy and there are daily exercises I'm doing for that.

April means I have a lot to learn. I plan to find something I enjoy reading about and learn how to do it. I think I will focus on container gardening at the moment. I would like to be able to go out in my sunroom and "pick" some fresh herbs for my cooking. Tomatoes and peppers, too!

My Goals:
To be healthier and happier in 2014. How? Finding the right balance between food, exercise and mindset are at the forefront. Renewing my spiritual self will be an added dimension.

I will exercise 5 times per week.
I plan to incorporate clean eating, with lots of veggies and fruits.
I will be taking classes at a local church that is in line with my personal philosophies.
I will continue to meditate.
I will find a new hobby.
I will become more financially aware.

I am eating healthy food as much as possible. Exercising is becoming a priority. Mostly I am working everyday at changing my thoughts and mindset:

Thanks for stopping by my page to read my blog and for your comments. I'll have to see if I can locate Clean Eating magazine, I don't think I've ever seen it but it sounds interesting. Right now most of the recipes I use are from SparkPeople because they include nutrition information and are easy to add to my tracker. Today is day 1 of change (again). I've had a lot of "day 1's" but hopefully this will be the start of a more successful journey.

Well, Colleen, it's about my 'eye candy'. In the BLC24 I was given my superpowers and my weakness is cowboys. My team is Azure Destinations which is an island sanctuary, thus the cabana boys and cowboys...
