Journey to a new and improved ME

After being heavy most of my life, I am working on new eating habits so I can live longer. I have lost over half of my goal weight since joining Spark People in April 2013, and working on getting more off so that I can feel better about myself! As someone that was overweight, I felt "invisible" and I don't want to be invisible any more! Not only do I want to lose weight, but I want to get in shape. I am tired of everything hurting all of the time! And since I don't have insurance (which I ...
And since I don't have insurance (which I am being forced to rectify shortly), I am forced retired (meaning can't find a job), losing weight is critical so that I stay healthy. Losing weight has been such a challenge for me all of my life. I love food and love to eat; I hate to exercise. I want to switch those two around!! (Well, kinda, I don't really want to hate to eat, just learn to love healthier food)

We sure do have a lot in common! I forgot about the stuff you mentioned, yup we did that too, LOL. I'm so glad we met here- we are both in it for the long haul and we will realize our goals together. That is a good thing! Have a great week-end. emoticon

Thanks for posting on my blog. I came to your page and read your profile, and now I want to read your blogs. I had no idea there was an Atlanta Sparkteam! That's cool.

Thank you for your encouragement! That was really kind of you.

Thanks for checking up on me! Yes, I have been very busy, but it has caught up with me. I have had a sinus infection for over a week, and the antibiotics are doing nothing. I made a bad decision to go ahead with a planned trip to the ranch, and only working a couple of hours a day just seemed to do me in. I go back to the doctor tomorrow, and I plan to really rest the next few days.

Don't kid yourself - getting a divorce from the one you love is grief also. I was married for 26 years to my childhood sweetheart. She was unhappy, but never talked about it. She finally moved out (the kids stayed with me), and after 2 years of trying to get her to come back and seek counseling with me, I gave up and asked for a divorce. I suffered grief that 2 years she was away, and I continued to suffer until I met Jackie 2 years after that. Jackie and I were the perfect match and we had 16 great years together. Jackie helped heal my broken heart, but now it's broken again. The activities have helped lessen the grief somewhat, but I still have bad days. I'm just waiting for the memories to go from sad to happy. I'm sure it will take time.

Sorry I got long winded on you
