My name is Laura, and I'm here because I don't want to go back to where I was before. 5 years ago, I moved away from home for a teaching job and lost 60 pounds in a year. I worked out several times per week, did yoga, and made better food choices. I went home for the summer and found that many people, including long-time family friends, didn't recognize me. I loved the feeling.
But after buying a house, and getting married, I've found that there are many other things that have taken over my focus and distracted me from my health. I've gained back 40 of the original pounds lost, and I'm here to lose them all again. And this time, there's NO GOING BACK!

My Goals:
My overall goal is to lose 30-40 pounds by our honeymoon in Europe. My immediate goal, however, is to workout and get back to being as fit as I was 2 years ago. We did a half-marathon last December, but basically quit working out after it. Thomas' mom has agreed to pay for our next half-marathon, and I am ready to get back to training. It's good to have a concrete goal in the future...One that is already paid for...


My Program:
I'm using the nutrition tracker everyday and I am not going to cheat. I have to be honest with myself and others about what I'm eating.



Personal Information:
I just got married, and we are having fun calling each other "husband" and "wife". All that is great, but now it's time to get off the cuddling couch and get back to the gym!


Other Information:
Oooo boy, I'm a reader. My mom and sister have beach vacations just for reading. I love my Kindle, but I still crave holding a book and turning actual pages.
