Over Fifty and getting Fit.

I am in my fifties, and happily married to a wonderful man who is my friend and partner in life.. I have 3 wonderful children and 3 grandchildren...
I have tried to eat healthy and stay active, but have totally failed. "Chuckle" :) But I remembered sparkpeople and how much this site and its members helped me before. So..Here I am again, ready for a change for the better.

My Goals:
My goals are:

Short term Goal: To lose 10 lbs. by Oct. so I will feel more comfortable in my current clothes.
Mid term goal: To lose 25 lbs. by Christmas. Looking great for that family Christmas photo.
Long term goal: To lose 50 lbs. Feeling better than I have in a long time, physically and emotionally. Able to go for long walks in the mountains and not feel out of breath, to swim with my grandchildren and not feel self conscious, ride a bike again.


My Program:
Give an overview of what you are doing to meet your goals.

1. Daily tracking my food.
2. Adding 2 fruits and 3 veggies to my daily intake
3. 10 minutes of exercise ( at least daily)
4. Being mindful of when I feel full, and emotional eating

Personal Information:
I'm married and have 3 children, and 3 grandchildren.
I work part time as an RN. I love to read and study the bible, knit, sew, and work in my garden.
My desire is to walk each day following God's will for my life...what ever that may be. I know it is his desire for me to be in the best physical codition that I can be, walking in self control, and trusting him for the grace I need.
