Life is getting Better

I have been fighting my weight since I was 5 years old. Now as I enter the second half of this life I want to finally win this battle, so I can enjoy myself more as my husband and I enter into retirement. We want to do more traveling and just enjoying life while we can.

When I started with Spark I just wanted to lose weight but now that I am halfway to my weight loss goal I am finding out I want more than that. I enjoy exercising, walking in particular and will be doing at ...

When I started with Spark I just wanted to lose weight but now that I am halfway to my weight loss goal I am finding out I want more than that. I enjoy exercising, walking in particular and will be doing at least 1 5K this year and who knows where that will lead maybe even longer distances.

I have found that when I eat healthy food I feel better and have more energy.

My Goals:
I want to finally get this weight off yet again and keep it off for good. I'm tired of fighting it and doing the yoyo thing. I joined SP May 2009, but didn't really get started seriously until late September.

My Program:
I plan to go slow and steady like the tortoise. Eating less, excersing more, and drinking more water and tea.

Personal Information:
My husband and I live out in the country on 20 acres in NW Missouri close to Smithville Lake with our female lab/pointer mix pup(12 years old but I still call her a pup) named Sadie. We are winter snowbirds that spend 3 months at Powell Park Marina on Lake Sam Rayburn in East Texas fishing.

I still work part-time when we are home.

I like to knit, crochet, and do decorative painting.

Other Information:
We love to travel in our 5th wheel and have taken some wonderful trips and had some great adventures during our 28 years of marriage. And yes our dog goes everywhere with us.

PJ - other than my two travel days this week, I've been getting my 10,000 steps in every day. It hasn't done a darn thing at the scale. I heard a saying that we must remember:

Lose weight in the kitchen
Lose inches at the gym.

Let's get back on track together! emoticon

Good to hear from you. Hope you are doing well and not about to float away. Wish you could share some of the water with us.
I am doing well. I hit my goal and it only took me 6 years and a prediabetes diagnosis for me to reach it. ;-) Love being a great grandma just wish we were closer to the kids.
Take care.

Yep, working at Casey's. This experience is a whole days conversation. The place is unbelievable.

Thanks for the Spark Goodie - I'm trying to keep a smile on my face! We have Nala home and she's trying to settle in but so far she's not happy with her crate. They suggested we put her in as after her ordeal (bath and new home) this morning, she would need an afternoon nap. Well, for a tiny puppy she sure can whine loud! Our lives as they were are changed forever!!

Once again thanks for the Spark Goodie! The dr was content with my weight now but I wasn't. He said to shoot for 170 by Sept (about 10-12 lbs with clothes on). Then we'll decide it I should go any lower. MY ultimate goal would be 160. He said we may compromise and shoot for 165. Either way, we were both happy today!!!
