Life is getting Better

I have been fighting my weight since I was 5 years old. Now as I enter the second half of this life I want to finally win this battle, so I can enjoy myself more as my husband and I enter into retirement. We want to do more traveling and just enjoying life while we can.

When I started with Spark I just wanted to lose weight but now that I am halfway to my weight loss goal I am finding out I want more than that. I enjoy exercising, walking in particular and will be doing at ...

I enjoy exercising, walking in particular and will be doing at least 1 5K this year and who knows where that will lead maybe even longer distances.

I have found that when I eat healthy food I feel better and have more energy.

My Goals:
I want to finally get this weight off yet again and keep it off for good. I'm tired of fighting it and doing the yoyo thing. I joined SP May 2009, but didn't really get started seriously until late September.

My Program:
I plan to go slow and steady like the tortoise. Eating less, excersing more, and drinking more water and tea.

Personal Information:
My husband and I live out in the country on 20 acres in NW Missouri close to Smithville Lake with our female lab/pointer mix pup(12 years old but I still call her a pup) named Sadie. We are winter snowbirds that spend 3 months at Powell Park Marina on Lake Sam Rayburn in East Texas fishing.

I still work part-time when we are home.

I like to knit, crochet, and do decorative painting.

Other Information:
We love to travel in our 5th wheel and have taken some wonderful trips and had some great adventures during our 28 years of marriage. And yes our dog goes everywhere with us.

Thanks for the Spark Goodie! No puppy - Norm finally realized it was a scam and stopped. But it did make me realize just how much Norm misses his shadow and wants another dog! We aren't set on a particular breed but we want small lap dog type. I prefer no shedding. I told Norm we need to take our time and find a good match for us. So, I dodged the bullet on this battle but the war rages on!

PJ , I now remember you mentioning the situation before but I've been so terrible about keeping up with the chat that it had slipped my mind. It's always stressful. Take care and have a Happy Mothers Day weekend

Thanks! The support is so appreciated! It's been a tough row and mom thinks she can do anything very quickly. Pushed a little too hard on the arm and total repair was needed. Glad the Dr. did a plaster splint this time!
