Bee Healthy, Bee Happy

Just returning to Spark after a brief break. I have just celebrated a milestone birthday. I did Spark under a different name from 2009 until present. Had to close my account and start another one. But it's good to start over and get a fresh prespective on things.
Have fought the weight battle most of my life and I suppose I always will. Hope to find some old and new friends here on Spark. I love the interaction I can get here. Have a great day and KEEP SPARKING.

My Goals:
I know I lose slowly so my goal is .5 to 1 lb per week.
I enjoy exercise so I will go for 180 minutes per week. Will try to mellow out a bit here at work.

My Program:
Will move more and concentrate on the healthy foods. Fruits, veggies and water will be my main focus and then work in the other healthy options. Walking briskly just about everyday will be my exercise program along with strength training. Being gentle to ME will be high on my agenda.

Personal Information:
Friendly, kind, highly motivated and moody are a few words I would use to describe myself.

Other Information:
Have a Blue Heeler, June Bug; three Jack Russels named Peanut Butter, Black Jack and Jackson. Two grandchildren who I adore and a daughter who is my pride and joy.

You asked what I think about Adkins diet. I did it back in the mid-70's. I do not believe it is a healthy nor an effective eating plan. When I'm having strong sugar cravings I will eat low-carb (but not high fat) for about 3 days. That is all I need to break those cravings. More days of low-carb, low-fat food (which has to be high protein) plan is too hard on my kidneys to continue. I know there are people who have done well on Adkins, but I know many more who have done well by gradually improving their nutrition and increasing exercise. Best wishes! -Marsha
